In A Matter Of Seconds [Under Editing]

Chapter 25

"When were either of you gunna tell me that Iris saw the Streak?" 

"I thought we were calling you the Flash." Barry shrugged.

"Joe, she caught me off guard. It wasn't planned." Emely was confused.

"When was this?" Joe looked at Emely.

"You weren't there?" Emely shook her head.

"She was asleep. She looked so peaceful and cute so I let her sleep." Emely blushed at Barry's comment. 

Joe noticed that Barry was blushing as well, thinking that the confession was making him embarrassed. 

"Look, I just want Iris out of this. Keep her in the dark about meta-humans. I don't want to go all Floyd Mayweather on you." Emely giggled.

"I know, Joe-"

"She's writing a blog now." Barry sighed

"I already talked to her about that."

"Well do it again, and be more convincing." Joe looked at Barry.

"You meant right now?" Joe nodded 

"Right now, and I need to talk to Emely, so you're on your own." Barry sighed and sped off. 

"What did you need to about?" 

"It's at CCPD." Emely nodded and the two headed down to the station.

Joe took the big book of mug shots up to Barry's lab where Emely was waiting.

"When Barry found Snart, I began looking through the pages and looking at the pictures. I found something that you might wanna see." Joe flipped to a page he had marked in the book. 

Two pictures were covered by a sticky note.

"Are you sure you wanna see this?" Emely nodded.

"If it wasn't important, then we wouldn't be here." Joe nodded.

"Do you wanna uncover them?" Emely shook her head.

Joe slowly took off one of the sticky notes and Emely's breath hitched. Joe uncovered the second one and Emely closed her eyes.

"Emely, are you okay?" She shook her head. 

"This can't be." Joe wrapped his arm around her shoulder.

"Emely, we'll get to the bottom of this. Myabe we should tell Barry about it." She shook her head. 

"Barry has a lot going on right now. I'll tell him when I'm ready." Joe nodded. 

"I won't tell him, if you let me help you." She looked at the older man. 

"Emely, you aren't alone in this. You said that I was like a father to you. And as a father, I wanna be there for you, to help you in whatever you need." Emely hugged Joe let herdelf cry into his shoulder. 

"It's okay, Emely. I'm here for you." Emely nodded and let go of Joe. 

She wiped her tears and went over to the book. She scowled at the two pictures of the two people she hadn't seen in awhile. 

The two pictures were mug shots of her parents.

The next day, Emely walked into S.T.A.R Labs surprised by Bette's presence in the facility. Emely listened as Dr. Wells explained to Bette what caused her to be that way. Bette explained why she was in Central City when the particle accelerator exploded and Caitlin then explained how it changed her body.
