In A Matter Of Seconds [Under Editing]

Chapter 44

Emely stared at the man in front of her. 

"RonnieStein. Professor RonnieStein." The man looked at her with confusion.

"You're Ronnie Raymond mixed with Professor Stein. Professor RonnieStein." 

"You are quite the creative mind, my dear." Emely smiled softly. 

"Thank you." They were silent

The others were discussing Ronnie's conditon while Emely was with Ronnie.

"How long have you been here?"

"Since last year. After the explosion, I came down here to find out what happened. I met everyone and I began a new life full of metas and speedsters." Stein chuckled softly.

"It's amazing how our lives can change in seconds." Emely nodded.

"What about your parents?" 

"They left me when I was 7. They were scientists and they left me for some reason with my Aunt Alice. I met my grandfather days ago who said that if he gets out, he'll do to me what he did to my mother. Something I can't ever get out of my mind." Stein looked at the girl

"What did he do?" 

"He abused my mom. Sexually. He's in Iron Heights and told me what he did and how my mother put him in there. He's a  disgusting man." Stein watched as the girl broke down.

"Hey, it'll be okay. As long as these people are in your life, he'll never hurt you." Stein held Emely into Ronnie's bare chest.

"Shh. It'll be okay." They held each other close for awhile. 

Stein put on a shirt and sat with Emely next to him.

"Hey." Barry glanced at his love and noticed her expression.

"What's wrong?" Stein glanced at Emely.

"You haven't told him?" Emely shook her head.

"Told me what? Baby, what is he talking about?" Emely sighed.

"I met my grandfather. He's in Iron Heights. When you and Joe went to talk to your dad, my grandfather requested for me to see him. We started talking and he told me something." Emely paused for a moment. 

"Her mother was sexually abused and Emely's grandfather said that he'll do the same thing to her when he gets out." Barry looked at his girlfriend who stared back at him with tear filled eyes.

"Baby, we talked about this already." Emely walked over to him and held him tightly as she cried.

"I'm here. I'm right here. I'll always be here. Listen," he pulled her away so she could look at him, "As long as I'm here, as long as everyone's here, he won't ever get to lay a hand on you as so much as look at you, okay? You don't have anything to be afraid of."

He wiped her tears away and placed a kiss on her forehead. 

"I love you." Stein smiled at the couple.

"He really does." The couple looked at him

"I can tell the way you look at her, and how you can promise her safety with such promise in your words. Love is the greatest thing two people can share." Barry smiled down at Emely.

"Of course I want her safe. She's my girl." Emely smiled and pressed a kiss to his cheek.

"That kiss is invalid. I would accept kisses like this." Barry pressed his lips against hers. 

Stein found himself missing his wife Clarissa and he felt Ronnie missing Caitlin as well.

"I love you so much, Barry." He nodded.
