I notice on my very left a clumsy, frowning, beautiful brunette walk towards me in the clumsiest manner, continuously tripping over her own feet, her toes pointing directly towards me...

"Umm..."

For a second there, I doubted she was headed my way, but now that she actually stopped before me, I knew for sure. My body finally turning towards her after my mind processes her arrival.
One can blame it on the hash...
That was some bad hash.

"Do you have umm-" She tucks a hair strand behind her ear and gets even closer. My frown forms when she starts looking around anxiously.

Was she about to ask me for drugs?
Do I look like a dealer?

"What is it that you need?" I squint and if I'm not just mistaking it, my voice might've frightened her.

My tone often frightened people who heard it for the first time. They say smoking does that in time.
It deepens the voice and widens the vocal cords, doubling the hoarseness.

"I want-pills..." She whispers that last part and looks around again. Then she eyes my... Jeans? My pocket...

Oh! So she saw me being handed a bag of pills earlier.  That makes sense...

"What pills?!" I raise my tone and she jumps in her place. I almost crack up.
She looks around one more time and takes an intuitive step back.

I roll my eyes.

"What kind?" I keep my tone low and decide to play along.

"Just-any..." She waves a hand and I squint in absurdity.

My eyes catch three girls watching us at a distance and snickering to themselves and my brain finally begins digesting the situation.

Was she dared to do this?

I look the brunette in her eyes once and then I glance at them again.
She was out of question, and out of their league...

Why is she doing this?

"Sure..." I straighten and dig my hand into my pocket to look for those sleep pills that my friend Cole has been taking for his insomnia. I hand her the little bag with only four pills inside.

"You can share it with your friends..." I point a finger at the three girls and their smiles instantly vanish, only to be replaced by smirks.

"How m-"
"It's for free..." I wave her off.

She hesitates but then she nods once and attempts to walk away.

I turn around to look for my herd but I find none. The place got awfully packed at this time of the night.

"Wait."
I turn back around to be met by her again. I sigh impatiently.

"What are those?" She whispers and tucks another hair strand behind her ear.

Ever since she got here, her eyes were devotedly glued to the ground and I didn't understand the fancy, so I decided to eye the random spot on the ground and frown at her.

"What are you staring at?!" I squint and her face goes aflame.

She shook her head a beat and I shook my head next.

"They're nothing serious just give it to them." I jerk my chin towards her friends and turn to walk away.

"Bro!" I'm stopped by Brandon on my way to find Cole.

"Yo-Toby is trashed!" He chokes his laughter and I nod at him knowingly.

"Bad hash bro. There was some serious shit in it..." I nod at him and he laughs some more.
