It was nine and I still had to drive all the way back.
I'm out of gas, tired, hungry, sleepless, and really dizzy...

I've been to fourteen places today and all I found that seemed suitable was a job as a sales woman in an old designer's boutique and a secretary for a rather arrogant thrifty business man who was just starting with his career.

I was seriously considering to accept yesterday's modelling job offer for Beau Ideal.
Perhaps I should go for that interview...

"Oh, there's something you should know." I speak calmly with my eyes still on the road.

"Yeah?" Nala turns to me.

We were in the car already in New York, only a couple of minutes away from being home.
I couldn't tell her about Tess earlier, I thought it would be best if I told her just as we closed in so the argument would be kept short.

"Tess is staying over at our place. In the guest's room." I speak and her head jerks my way.
Her jaw slacked and she quirked an eyebrow.

"Excuse me?!" She scoffs in absurdity.

"Just for a couple of days until she finds another place."
"This girl is going through a rough time but she's too proud. I know she won't be staying for longer than a day or two."
"So, all I'm asking of you is to simply consider her nonexistent since we all know that's the best thing you could do."
"Be nice or don't be anything at all to her." I conclude and she started shaking her head.

"You slept with her didn't you?" She jerks her chin my way and I stress on my jaw.

"Do you know me for that Nala?" I ask her calmly and she takes aback a moment later.

"Then why are you helping her?" She frowns.

"Anyone in my place would've helped her." I assured her.

"I'm not doing her much." I add and she nods again.

"Two days, if she's not gone, I won't shut up about it."
"I don't want a homeless person hanging around the house Adam."
"And I don't like that girl."
"At all!" She concludes and I park in before we both get out of the car.
I notice that Tess's car wasn't parked in and I sigh in release. I didn't want her to bump into Nala at all.

"Alright, just keep your thoughts to yourself and don't make her uncomfortable."
"I'd want someone to treat you the same way if you were in her place."
"Think about it this way..." I conclude before I get the front door open and I step inside.

"Just whatever..." She rolls her eyes and heads straight to her room.

I sighed again.
I was expecting a fight, but thank god Nala didn't pick at it.

But where is Tess?
It was almost ten.

I drive down the road until I reach Adam's place and I park in behind his car.

I gulp before I shut the engine and leave the car.

I'm guessing Nala is inside too?
I wish this girl would learn to like me if even a little.

I've been so caught up trying to find a job that I wasn't looking for a place to stay at.
I knew I had to leave this place as soon as possible.

I fish for the house key in my bag and just before I insert it, my head slightly spins.
