I huff amidst my sobs, so tired of all the memories flooding in and tossing my heart from one memory to the other.
I wipe more tears with the back of my hands and get to my feet, reaching for a book that I used for an escape every time the memories from the near past terrorized me.
I open the book where I had a dried plum rose shoved between its pages.
I once had a fresh dozen of plum roses hanging in a vase in my room...

I hugged the bouquet to me and Adam rolled his eyes amusedly.
"What?" I pursed my lips, highly mortified.
"Nothing..." He shook his head and lowered his gaze before he walked away, heading to his room.
I take my lovely plum roses to the kitchen and look around for a vase.
My phone vibrates in my pocket and when I retrieve it, I smile when I find a text from Oliver.
*Roses are red, Violets are blue, Sunflowers are yellow, I bet you were expecting something romantic, but no, these are just gardening facts...*
"Haha!" I snicker.
"Nice one..." I bit my lower lip.
Later that day, we have dinner on a yacht...
A parked yacht since I usually got seasick...
Not quite Oliver's yacht, but he was planning on buying it, if I liked it, he said...
His eyes held so many promises, I felt like I was doing him no righteousness by stalling...
But how can I know for sure if I was in love?
Shouldn't one know right away?
And even if I was, I still didn't want to rush this by moving in with him...
And if I told him that, he won't believe me.
I mean-if you really love me, move in with me!
That's what he would say.
I sighed.
"What is it?" He frowned a bit concerned.
"I had too much wine..." I chuckled, placing the glass away before I returned to his craddle.
It was already late at night.
We were seated in a room inside the yacht. It had a glass ceiling from which we were looking out at the stars.
I turn to smile at him with appreciation.
He's been nothing but sweet to me all day today.
"Thank you for all this..."
"The roses, the dinner, and this spectacular view..." I grinned and he chuckled shaking his head.
"Anything for you..." He places a soft kiss on my forehead and I find myself reaching for his arm, pulling myself closer to him.
He gets my gesture and he inches closer to kiss my lips. We deepen the kiss and my body begins to warm up...
I effortlessly keep up with him as he pulls me up on his lap and leads me to an intense makeout.
At a moment, I feel him harden against me...
I had nothing else to offer him...
My heart begins racing and I grow more distracted as I debate with myself on whether I was ready or not to take this step with him, again, after more than four years...
After Philip's attempt at me...
"I-" He stops me from speaking and with a swift movement, he flips us and then he climbs on top of me.
I feel my breath get caught when I imagine Oliver's face for someone else's.
"Wait-" It comes out breathy, it doesn't stop him anyway...
