Thompson
It was no wonder I've never seen him with a girl.
He's always grumpy...
His sense of humor lasts no less than a couple of seconds.
He throws no jokes in whatsoever, none even flirtatious.
And he isn't very generous with the compliments. I don't remember recieving any from him...
He has a temper.
He seems allergic to cheesiness.
And he isn't very intimate either.
In fact, he is rough and sometimes senseless...
I remember the few times he held my hand by my wrist, never my palm...
I saw it in his eyes a couple of times...
He was definitely shut down.
I even told him when he asked me.
I saw no way for him to think of me that way, which is why I feel confident about our friendship. It will definitely work.
Cole and I turn our heads when we hear someone chuckle.
It was Adam.
"You look cute all cuddled up." He spoke sarcastically and Cole chuckled.
I wasn't humored however, but I forced a smile anyway.
"Where's Nala and Brandon?" Cole asks.
"Playing pool." He replied wryly.
"Do you know how to play pool?" Cole asks me and I chuckle shaking my head.
"Well do you want to learn?" He chuckles.
"Nah, we're going to catch up on Poker." Adam speaks, jerking his head for me to come along.
He was busy continuously lighting up his cigarette, but the wind was strong.
I shrug and Cole chuckles.
"Alright, I'm coming to watch." We both get to our feet and follow Adam inside.
Thwaites
We were nowhere near done but the game was on like never before that even Nala and Brandon were sitting around the table now watching us.
Tess can be very confusing...
I can never tell if she's bluffing or her hand was really good.
"I raise..." I sigh pushing chips of two hundred to the center of the table.
"Call..." She calls the same amount and Cole chuckles.
"She's unbelievable." He shook his head in amusement.
"I need a beer." He leaves us to head to the kitchen.
I checked.
She raised...
I called. She finally checked.
I checked as well and the fourth card got exposed.
It was not in my favor...
This is going to take forever...
Tess and I had almost the same amount of chips, maybe she was 50K richer but it didn't matter anymore. She was good. And I'd like to believe I was as good.
I might as well just go all in and see if she really was a risk taker.
"Alright you know what?"
"I'm all in..." I push all my chips forward and her eyebrows shoot.
Cole gets back with a fresh bottle of Heineken in his hand.
"Whoa! What did I miss?" He speaks and Nala informs him that I went all in. He grins.
"It's either you fold or you call..." I smile at Tess.
"In favor of finishing the game?" She quirks an eyebrow and I chuckle.
"Maybe..."
"That doesn't mean I'm not winning this one." I shrugged and she squinted at me amusedly.
"What the hell. All in." She shrugged.
We check the last card on table and then I straighten eyeing her.
"Show cards." I lift my cards ready to flip them over.
