I wrote a previous story mentioning James and Lily in 7th year but I'm just going to start fresh here and all rights to JKR. This is my first Jily anything, so any thoughts or feedback would be great. Enjoy!!
(PS. This chapter is a shorter version of Snape's Worst Memory, so it's not word for word but obviously I didn't write this one myself so 100% to JKR for this)

"This'll liven you up, Padfoot," said James with his arrogant smirk. "Look who it is..."
Sirius looked over past the girls by the water. He sat still, like a predator eying its prey. "Excellent. Snivellus."
The two boys, accompanied by an enthusiastic Peter and a remorseful Remus, headed towards Snape. "Alright Snivellus?" he called. He turned around, as if expecting an attack and held his wand out. Peter edged around Remus to get a better view, but still remain safely hidden. James was too fast, though, and shouted, "Impedimenta" knocking him to the ground and causing his movements to slow.
"Watch out James, he'll wipe his nose on us!" Sirius said snickering.
"Wash your mouth. Scourgify!"
In the midst of the crowd, Lily Evans came pushing through. Her red hair was in it's natural waves and her emerald eyes were glaring at James. "Leave him alone!" she exclaimed. She looked at James with every ounce of hate in her body. "What has he done to you?"
"Well," James said pretending to think, "it's more the fact that he exists, if you know what I mean..."
"You think you're funny," she said coldly. "You're just an arrogant, bullying toerag, Potter. Leave him alone."
James smirked, taking his eyes off Snape. "If you'll go out with me, Evans. Go on...go out with me, and I'll never lay a wand on old Snivelly again."
Snape made a grunt like noise while the impendiment jinx began wearing off. He snowing inched towards his fallen wand spitting out the spuds of soap.
"I wouldn't go out with you if it was a choice between you and the giant squid!" Lily exclaimed.
Sirius tsk'ed and looked over at Snape. "OY!" He had rose with his wand and sent a flash of light at James, causing a great gash on his cheek and sputtering his robes in blood. James whirrled around and a second flash later, Snape hung from the tree upside down showing off his skinny legs and graying underpants. The crowd laughed again and pointed at him.
"Let him down!" Lily shouted angrily.
"Certainly." He jerked his wand and Snape landed in a heap on the ground, but Sirius was quick and petrified him back to the ground.
"Leave him alone." She had her wand out now, pointed directly at James.
"Evans...don't make me hex you."
"Then take the curse off."
James sighed, but took the curse off of Snape. "You're real lucky Evans was here Snivellus -"
"I don't need help from a filthy little mudbloods like her!"
James growled at Snape, "Take it back!"
Snape mustered up his strength and got back to his feet. "Lily! I -"
Lily stared at her used to be best friend with the same hating look she had given James, but it was more hurt than anger. "Fine. I won't in the future. I would wash your pants if I were you, Snivellus."
