Lily sat in the Great Hall studying for the O.W.L.s. It was a month early, but nothing was stopping her. Her textbooks were stacked beside her and her breakfast was long forgotten.
"You'd think she'd stop studying to do something more practical, like oh I dunno, eating!" Sirius said. "Come on mate, you've been staring at her for so long. Don't your eyes get sore?"
"Never. They could never tire of seeing Lily..." James murmured, resting his cheek on his palm.
"I reckon you've got a new plan?"
"Yup. She said the only way I wouldn't annoy her was if I quizzed her. So I will."
Sirius took it and read it over chuckling. "Okay mate, good luck."
James smiled and pulled together his pride. He took a sip of pumpkin juice to calm any nerves and walked over to Lily. He set down the parchment and watched her read it, her expression never changing. She skimmed it over and re-dipped her quill to answer. Once finished, she shoved it aside and continued back to her studying.
James picked it up and walked back over to Sirius. "What'd she say?" he asked. James slid over the note and Sirius read it once more.
