James sat in Transfiguration mindlessly transforming a cup to a rat and then back again. Sirius was flirting with some Ravenclaw and Remus was concentrating on the homework McGonagall had assigned. Peter, well he was sleeping over his half rat half goblet. James tipped his chair back, and turned around to see the beautiful redhead behind him.
"Turn around, Potter," McGonagall snapped.
James sighed and leaned forward. He scribbled out a note on a spare piece of parchment and tossed it behind him. He heard the crinkling of paper, knowing Lily was opening it.
Hi Evans
The note flew past his head and landed on his lap. He eagerly opened it - What Potter?
He flattened it out and dipped his quill into Sirius's ink bottle. Wanna go out? he wrote quickly. He dropped it on her desk keeping a watchful eye on McGonagall. He left his hand out on her desk and waited for her to put it back. When he felt the note in his hand again, he opened it at his again. No.
James waited a few minuted before writing, How bout now? and returned it to her. It wasn't long before it came back to him. Still no.
Sirius had finished flirting with the girl and looked at the note on his desk. "Tough luck, mate. Maybe she's just PMSing." He felt a hard smack on the back of his head and whirled around. "Evans, if you wanted my attention all you had to do was ask."
"I am not PMSing. I'm disgusted at the amount of arrogance that emits from both of you!"
"Hey Evans," James said, turning around.
She raised an eyebrow at him and leaned back in her chair.
"Wanna go out now?"
"NO!"
McGonagall looked up and pursed her lips. "Miss Evans! Keep your voice down, and Mr. Potter and Black, turn around! Or I could collect your work as is..."
"We're working on it Minnie!" Sirius called back.
