"LILY I NEED YOU!" James said running up to her.

Sirius and Remus bolted past her heavily dressed. She looked up at him to see his face very close to hers with a wide smile and rosy cheeks. "Gee, I wonder why," she said dryly. 

"Sirius just challenged me to a snowball fight." She stared at him blankly. "I need a partner because Sirius took Remus and Peter said he has detention with McGonagall. Come on! Grab your things, I'll wait!"

Lily sighed, and ran up to her room to set down her things and dress. She got her Gryffindor scarf, a pair of gloves, and her heaviest cloak. She came back down, tucking her wand in her pocket, to see James anxiously waiting by the door. "Come on then." He grabbed her hand and they ran outside towards the Black Lake.

"Ah welcome Evans!" Sirius said. He and Remus were in the middle of building their large igloo. "Does she know the rules?"

"Rules?" Lily muttered looking up at James.

"I'll tell her. Okay, just start building a fort." Lily obliged and began molding the snow. "Rule one, no magic. Rule two, don't get hit. Rule three, your flag cannot be buried in the snow. Rule four, you must bring the flag back to your fortress to win. And lastly, you can go anywhere except inside the castle. Also, you look lovely today."

Lily froze in her spot trying to understand the game. "So this is capture the flag? With snowballs?"

"What's capture the flag?"

"Never mind. So do you usually win?"

"I mean, Sirius and I are usually on a team but yes, I do usually win. But Sirius and Remus tend to fight a lot so they'll be distracted."

"Sounds familiar."

"Okay hurry up, we've only got ten minutes to make this fort!"

And then it began. Sirius stood behind one of the trees with his binoculars and an armful of snowball preparing for any attack.

"So what if I get hit?"

"Then you have to sit for a minute and watch. Then you can come back. But if you get hit and they tag you, you are a prisoner to them."

"I have an idea. I think we need to get Sirius first since he's like the guard. If we double team him then he won't have a chance to get our flag and at the same time Remus can't see because he's in his fort."

"Smart Lils. Okay what's your idea?" After James listened, he agreed and they set into action.

Lily walked with her snowballs towards Sirius. Close enough to hit him, but safe enough where she wasn't a threat.

"Oh Evans, don't make me hit a girl with a snowball!" Sirius said jokingly. "Where's Prongs? Surprised he sent a sacrifice. Well sorry Evans." He wound up his throw, but Lily coughed and stopped him. She looked up and he followed her gaze to see James sitting on one of the branches. He bounced and sent a heap of snow on top of Sirius.

"YES!" Lily exclaimed. She saw his head poke up and she threw her snowball at him and ran up to tag his head. "Air-Five!" Her and James "air" high-fived. "One down, one to go!"

"Dammit Prongs, you had to pick her..."

James jumped down and smirked, "Who knew Lily would be good at this?"

They had devised another plan to lure Remus out. Now, since Sirius was a prisoner to James and Lily, they used him.

"Remus!" Sirius shouted.

Remus immediately poked his head out of the igloo but kept a close eye out.

"They're both inside, I need backup."

Remus did a quick dive out of his igloo but something red caught his eye. He turned around to see Lily sitting gracefully on top of his igloo. "Hello Remus."

He held up his snowball and threw it, but something hit him first. Lily rolled off the igloo and dodged his snowball quickly. Remus turned around to see James standing there with a large smirk on his face. "Sorry Moony. We're just too good for you." Lily crawled in and grabbed their flag located right above the igloo door and ran back to her and James's fort.

"WE WON!" she shouted. She jumped up and hugged James. "That was brilliant! Do you guys just make up these games?"

"Yeah," Sirius said sitting down. "We get bored in detention."

Lily rolled her eyes but smiled all the same. "I actually enjoyed spending time with you guys. Potter didn't even make a move."

"It's never too late to try. Wa-"
