It had only been a week since break ended and James and Sirius were back to their antics. They ran around the the castle dueling (nothing horribly terrible of course). They made it to the Grand Staircase right outside the Entrance Hall.

A crowd had gathered by then, as expected, and one Lily Evans happened to be among them. She was with Mary and much like the others, waited to see what would happen.

Sirius gave James a curt nod and bowed gallantly and him. "Flipendo!" 

James was sent flying down the staircase and slammed into the wall, sliding down in a heap. Lily rushed over to him pushing past the others and checked his arms and head for any injuries. "Merlin you bloody idiots!"

"Lily..." James murmured sitting up.

"What?"

"I'm just dying to go out with you." He smirked and opened his eyes to see her face red with fury.

"Your such an arse!" She got up and smacked his head before storming off.

Sirius came over and gave James a hand up, "Sorry 'bout that mate."
