"I've taken up a new hobby!" James announced carrying a guitar "It's called music." He walked down the stairs to the Head's common room where Marlene, Remus, and Lily were.

"You play the guitar?" Marlene asked.

"Yes. Not to brag, but I'm fairly good." He sat down across from them and propped the guitar. "Would you like to hear? I've written a song as well."

Remus leaned back expecting what to happen next. "By all means Prongs, let's hear it." He glanced at Lily with a knowing smile. 

James took a few strums and started, "Lily you're like the sea. You're my cup of tea. You're so pretty. You make my day less crappy and just so much more happy. Maybe one day we can ski. But for know go on a date with me?"

Lily stared at him. She gave him credit, he did really know how to play guitar but the song... "Er- that was wonderful."

James smiled, "Well in all honesty Sirius and I co-wrote it."

"Bloody hell...Well you play well."

"I can teach you to play!" 

"Sure. Sounds fun."

"Really?"

"Yes." 

"It's a date!" 

"It's not."

"I'm calling it our..." He counted on his fingers and mumbled, "Third date."

"Third?" Marlene asked. 

"Well there was one time Lily helped me when Sirius punched my lip. I count that as our first. And then Lily hustled Sirius and I into a game of darts I took her to buy her a new jumper. That was our second."

"Those were not dates!" Lily exclaimed.

"I beg to differ."
