James found Lily sitting in the library and "coincidentally" bumped into her chair. "Oh, sorry there. Hello Lily." He smirked, sitting in the empty seat across from her.

"Hello."

"Whatcha doing?"

"Reading. Something you should try."

"I read!" Lily rose an eyebrow. "The sports section of the Daily Prophet..."

"Speaking of reading, I've got a poem for you!" He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small red piece of parchment. He handed it to her, his face eager for her to read it.

Lily set down her book and opened up the note.

Dear Lily,

Roses are red
Lilies are white
If I stop asking you out
Can we snog tonight?

Love, James

Lily looked up at him with an amused look. "Wrote it myself," he boasted proudly.

"Well...it rhymes at least."

"So what do you say?"

"It could do without the blackmail part."
