"No I'm going to pay for myself," Lily said grabbing the receipt. 

Lily and James were having lunch in the Three Broomsticks going over McGonagall's new orders while the rest of Hogwarts was enjoying a Hogsmeade trip. 

"No Lily, the man always pays."

"Where is he? All I see is a pratty boy."

James rolled his eyes, snatching back the receipt. "Once again, pratty isn't a word."

"Once again," Lily took it back, "Now it is. And I'm paying for myself."

"Stop being a nice person and let me pay! You're going to go through the trouble of getting two receipts? Come on. Why the bloody hell not?"

"Because this isn't a date."

"What?"

"If a person pays for the other, specifically you, then it's consider a date."

"So you're saying I've been on thousands of dates with Sirius before?"

"You know what I mean."

"I think we'll let Rosmerta decide."

"She's biased."

"And you're stubborn." James raised his hand calling her over. "Please, take this sickle and if it lands on dragon I'll pay and if it lands on wizard, she'll pay for herself."  

Rosmerta pursed her lips and looked between the two. She grabbed the sickled and flipped it high, all three watching anxiously upon the golden coin. The spun around and around until the lay flat. "Dragon."

James smirked and took out his money for their meal. "I'm adding it to the list. Number 5?"

Lily rolled her eyes, "Shut up."
