"Prongs, are you positive this is a good idea? I mean I'm not going all Moony on you but..." Sirius paused. It was a rare cause when Sirius questioned James's ideas. "I'm all for it, but don't you think it's a bit risky?"

James shrugged, "It'd be weirder to see a Stag than a dog in the school."

"Good point." Sirius transformed into Padfoot with ease and rested his head on James's lap.

"Who's a good boy?" James teased, scratching his ears. "You are Snuffles, you are!" Sirius barked and backed away from James. He sat down, his backside facing James. "I'm sorry Snuffles, you're just too cute. Come here." Sirius reluctantly moved to face James, his head held high. James slipped on the red collar that read 'SNUFFLES'. "Okay, go!"

Sirius barked and took off out of the dorm. He slowly made his way down the stairs and to the Gryffindor common room where he found Lily and her friends. "Look!" Marlene said, pointing to the black dog bouncing down the boys staircase. "It's a dog! Come here, baby!" She drummed her hands on her lap calling Sirius over.

He was slightly offended being called a baby, but he let it slide. He had a mission to do. He walked up to Hestia and jumped on the couch, resting his head on Lily's lap.

Lily smiled and stroked the dogs head. "You're a cutie. What were you doing up there?" Lily move his fur and looked at his collar. "Snuffles? What a handsome name." Sirius barked and licked her hand.

"Where do you think he came from?" Hestia asked. "We're not allowed any dogs at Hogwarts. Though I wish that would change."

Lily shrugged, playing with Snuffles's fluffy ears. "I suppose whoever lost him will come get him eventually. Or maybe he's Hagrids. Anyways, what were we talking about?" Sirius barked three times and then lay back down.

"That was weird..." Marlene commented.

In a minute there were footsteps droning down the stairs of the boys dormitories. Then James appeared. "Hello," he said casually. He looked at Sirius and smiled.

"He's cute, isn't he?" Lily asked.

"As far as dogs go..."

"You're just jealous Lily likes him more," Marlene teased.

"I'm looking for Remus. And I'm not jealous of a dog!"

Lily looked at Snuffles and if dogs could roll their eyes, she swore Snuffles did. "Er - he's still in the Great Hall." With that, James left with big smirk on his face.

There was a dead pause for a bit, but then something came up. "So Lily, have you rethought about dating James?" Alice asked waggling her eyebrows. Sirius opened his eyes at the mention of James. He stayed still not to cause a commotion but his ears perked up.

"I never thought a first time about dating him," Lily said in a monotone.

"Okay...maybe we'll get a real answer next time. But who were we talking about before?"

"Michael McCamery," Alice reminded.

"Yeah he honestly couldn't stop flirting today..." Marlene continued.

Sirius closed his eyes and rest on Hestia and Lily while they talked about their girl stuff. He decided to set the plan in a little earlier. He jumped off the couch, his tail knocking over Lily's books. "Oops, you're a bit clumsy, aren't you?" Lily bent to pick up her books but found something else instead. "That's weird..." She picked up the letter and set her books back on the table. Sirius sat over by Marlene with a smile on his face. He'd done his job.
