"Hey James, are you doing anything tonight? I was thinking of finally watching this muggle movie, since you said you've never actually seen one before."

"Actually I have plans tonight, but tomorrow I'll watch a movie."

"Oh, sure. So are you going out with the Marauders then?"

"Er - no. By plans, I mean I have a date tonight."

"Oh."

"Yeah, but don't worry your pretty head, we can watch as many muggle movies as you want tomorrow night. Actually, you can help me. I need a female perspective of the date I planned. So I was thinking we'd start with some ice cream, nothing better than dessert first, and then maybe take a walk and talk and then I got tickets to the quidditch game. Box seats, perfect view."

Lily sighed, thinking of the date and how perfect it sounded. "That sounds amazing."

"Really? I hope she'll like it. It took me forever to get these tickets. Thanks Lily."

Lily slumped down on the couch and watched as James left the dorm.

Marlene was expected to come over soon after her quidditch practice. And soon the hour arrived and Lily hadn't left her spot on the couch. Only now she was surrounded by magazines and food.
"What's shaken bacon?" Marlene asked plopping down beside her best friend.

"I'm a complete idiot."

"Well I mean, sometimes...Only joking. What's got your knickers in a twist?"

"James is going on a date with some girl tonight." She grabbed one of the pillows and hugged it. "I wasted my time and now he's gone and I think he's over me for good."

"Why'd you string him along?"

"I didn't know I fancied him! ...and I do. I really do fancy him but I'm so damn stubborn. I deserve this, he deserves to be happy. I'm a terrible person. Why didn't he just get over me sooner?"

"Lily you'll move past it. Besides, James will come back around, he always does."

"I'm afraid not this time..."

Lily was getting ready to meet the girls when James knocked on the door. He walked in, clad in a nice maroon sweater with khakis on. "I need an opinion. Good, bad? I don't want to send a bad message."

"You look great James. What kind of message are you trying to send?"

"I fancy you, but I'm easy going and collected. I like to party and I'm fun, but I also like long walks on the beach and puppies."

Lily chuckled, "I think you'll be fine. So you really must fancy her, huh?"

"Yeah, you'd like her. She's gorgeous, the most beautiful witch and her eyes are so hypnotizing. Oh and she's really funny. She could make me laugh for hours, and her smile just lights up my world. And she's so smart, she makes me feel happy all the time and she's just perfect."

"She sounds lovely."

"She is...Well, I'll see you tonight."

"Have fun." Lily yet again, watched James leave the dorm and continuing his life. She felt bad that she was jealous but she couldn't help it. None the less, she was going to have a fine night of her own.

Only a short while after, there was knock outside the portrait. Lily got up and it swung open revealing James. "Oh, you're back. Did you forget the password again?"

James smirked and he rolled up the sleeves of his sweater. "No, it's still 'Lily Potter'. Say, what do you think about a really hot date with me, filled with ice cream and quidditch?"

"W-What about that other girl?"

"And I thought you were the smartest witch of our generation...There is no other girl, Lily. It's always been you Lily. So would you like to accompany the ultra sexy, fantastically amazing James Potter on a date, Evans?"

"Yes."
