"You'll never believe what just happened..." Lily exclaimed. She stormed in and collapsed onto her bed.

The girls crowded around her bed eager to listen. There was always something new with Lily and it almost always had to do with James. They wouldn't say it to her face, but they shipped James and Lily very hard.

Lily huffed and sat up and began, "So I'm waiting to talk to Professor Slughorn on the last project right...

Lily stood in Professor Slughorn's office awaiting his return from the Great Hall and who else to stroll in but James Potter and Sirius Black. The dynamic duo.

"Evans!" Sirius said flashing his devilish smile. "What a pleasure, ay Prongs? What'd you get slammed for?"

"Nothing. I'm just here to talk to Professor Slughorn." She tucked her hair behind her ear and leaned against his desk. "Doesn't McGonagall split you two up during detentions?"

"Well she's a bit...preoccupied." They shared their smirk which Lily knew always led to something mischievous. "So, here we are!"

"Are you going to the Slug Club Christmas party tonight?" James asked. He sat on one of the desks playing with a particularly interesting potion that turned colors dependent on mood.

"Yes, actually. Will I see you two there?"

Sirius shrugged, "Eh, his parties are always so boring. The only fun things that go on are when we put something in his food."

James chuckled at the memory. Last dinner they discovered muggle laxative and put it in his ice cream and it didn't end very well. "Very true Padfoot. We'll swing by. Say, do you have a date?"

"Is that your way of asking me out?"

"You could say that. It would be our second date, so technically we're already dating." He winked at her and continued to play with the potion.

"Me helping you clean your bloody face because this idiot punched you is not a date!"

Sirius, who had just tuned into the conversation, gasped, "Wait you two went on a date?"

"NO!" Lily exclaimed. "We most certainly did not." James waited for Lily to look away and nodded at Sirius. "Shut up Potter. Are you two leaving soon?"

"Not until you agree to go to the Slug party with me," James said.

"No."

"Fine. I guess we're staying Pads."

"I'm down for that." He sat in Slughorn's chair and propped his feet up. "I like to sing during detentions, makes time go faster. Prongs? A melody?"

James whipped out his wand and charmed one of the spoons to play the potions to the tune of All I Want for Christmas is You.

"He don't want a lot for Christmas, there is just one thing he needs! He don't care about the presents, underneath the Christmas tree. He just wants you for his own, more than Merlin could ever know. Make his wish come true! All he wants for Christmas, is you...to go to the Slug Party! He don't want a lot for Christmas, there is just one thing he needs! And he, don't care what you wear, just as long as it's pretty. I don't need to listen to him, mope and moan about you all night. Peter just won't make him happy, as his date to Slughorn's party. I just want you to say yes, more than Merlin could ever know. Make his wish come true! All he wants for Christmas is a yes. Yeeees baby. Ooh he won't ask for much right after, he won't even ask for sex. And I. I'm just gonna keep on singing, just until you say okay. I won't even take a break, just so I know you'll say yes. I won't even stay the night to hear how the evening went. 'Cause I just -"

"SIRIUS SHUT UP!"

The the potions stopped chiming and Sirius smirked. "I'm thinking of making a record. You know, Siriusly. That would be the album title and the cover would just be me sitting in a throne with a bunch of dogs around me."

"Do you ever stop talking?"

"No. Prongs and Moony swear I talk in my sleep but I don't believe it. I'd need to see it to believe it."

Lily sighed and ran her hand through her hair. "Merlin okay I'm leaving. If Slughorn comes back tell him a ear bursting beetle and Potter drove me out." She grabbed her scroll and walked out.

"I think she just called you a beetle," James said.

"She insulted my singing!"

"It's okay, I thought it was lovely."

"And that's how my evening went."

"Catchy song!" Marlene said. "Too bad none of us saw it. Maybe if I'm lucky Sirius will sing it tonight at the party."
