Lily was sitting in Hagrid's yard feeding her adopted baby hippogriff. "Hi baby," Lily said stroking it's head. 

"So we're on nickname basis?" James said walking through the gate. "Lilykins."

"He's so annoying, isn't he..." Lily muttered to Scout.

"I'm just one step closer to you saying yes when I ask you out."

"You're far from it."

"I mean we already have a home together, a child, nicknames. All you have to do is say yes!" 

"I don't think being forced to share a dormitory is considered having a home together -"

"Hey you never had to stay. You could've gone back to your old dorm."

Lily rolled her eyes, "Scout is not our child. He is an adopted animal we take care of in place of Hagrid."

James covered Scout's ears, "Shh...Don't listen to her Scout, you're still our son."

"We do not have nicknames. You know I was talking to Scout."

"Whatever you say, Baby."

Lily scowled and got up. "I'm leaving."

"See you on our date tonight!"

"No!"

"Alright, I'll see you at home." James stroked Scout's feathers when he was blast with a jelly leg jinx and flew to his back. He could swear he heard Scout let out a snort. "She's so into me Scout. Just you wait."
