kind of a filler chapter, but hey, maybe you'll understand more.

I followed Andrea and Nick to Art. Apparently there was a new teacher, so I was glad I wasn’t the only new one...
We sat down together, Andrea and Nick arguing about who's a better photographer. Everyone was chatting quietly. The teacher, a 20-something woman with bright blue streaks in her short brown hair, was sitting in the front. I settled in my chair, waiting for class to start.
The bell rang, and the teacher stood up. "Hello, everybody, I'm Ms. Palette, but I prefer if you call me Vivienne----"
In strolled Aidan, with a nod at the teacher. He sat down in the back, making some girls sigh. I leaned over to whisper to Andrea. "What's he doing here?"
"It's an 11/12 class," she explained. "Seniors are in here too. I hear Aidan's pretty good at art, too."
"'Cause he's good at everything," Nick muttered.
"I expect you guys to try to be on time, because I start my classes on time," the teacher said mildly. "I'm obviously new here, and I'm sure there are new faces among you guys. So today, as we go through the attendance, please state your name and tell us a bit about yourself." She gestured to the first person, a petite Asian girl with pink highlights.
I kind of zoned out, staring in to space. Then Nick stood up. "I'm Nick Grayson. I uh... don't like homework?" He shrugged, getting a few laughs.
Andrea stood up next. "My name is Andrea Stevens. I don’t take any shi---crap from people, so think twice before messing with me, or my friends.” She smiled, instantly brightening the situation. "But other than that, I'm a pretty chill person." She sat down, turning expectantly to me.
I stood up slowly. "I'm Tiana Follow. I'm new... and..." I trailed off, unsure what to say. Then some bonehead decided to ruin my day.
"You're hot!" the moron called out. "Do you work out?"
"Yeah, tell us your number!" another dumbass said.
I looked down, picking at my jeans. My face was burning, mortified and humiliated, just a little pissed off. Then, before the teacher could intervene (or Andrea could pound their heads together), a lazy voice called out from the back.
"Shut. The hell. Up." Even though the voice was quiet, the chattering and giggling all stopped. We all turned to see who it was. Aidan had an annoyed expression on his face, his head raised from where he was slouching on his desk. "Just let her finish, God!"
"Thank you for that," Ms. Pal---uh, Vivienne said. "Please don't interrupt. If you want to flirt with her that is not the way to go." She looked pointedly at the first idiot. Some snickering and the guy shrugged sheepishly. "Why don't you tell us about what kind of art you like to do?" she said to me.
"Um, I like to sketch," I said shyly. "And paint. Drawing in general." I sat down quickly, keeping my head down. I wondered why Aidan had stood up for me, or if he did at all. He probably just wanted this to be over. Yeah, that's it. I peeked over my shoulder, and saw him with his head down on his desk. Yeah. He didn't give a damn.
When it got to him, Aidan stood up, his hair in his eyes. His whole posture couldn't scream 'Don’t mess with me' any louder. "Aidan Tallan. If I wanted your opinion, I'd ask for it." Then he sat down, ignoring the little pause in everyone after his little statement.
