Tiana’s POV:
All I saw was people in black rushing at Aidan. He shoved me away and tried to take them all on at the same time. Even I knew that was crazy and suicidal. They looked like they were gangsters, for god sakes.
At this point though, my head started hurting. I felt cold and my vision swam, so I couldn’t even try and scream for help. That was the only thing I could manage to do to help Aidan, and I couldn’t even do that.
Someone grabbed me, and amazingly I screamed. A flash of red went through the darkness of my mind. I twisted wildly, kneed the guy in the groin, staggered up, and tried to run away blindly. My vision was so hazy it’s a miracle I didn’t run into a fire hydrant or something. I was having trouble breathing too.
Just when I thought I was getting somewhere, someone clocked me on the head, and I went down like a sack of potatoes. A pained shriek ripped out of my throat, and I clutched my head, moaning helplessly on the ground.
Then, of course, being the useless girl I was, I blacked out.
:)
Blinking, I opened my eyes. It was hazy at first, but then I saw a wall. A gray, dirty, shabby-looking wall, on one side of the alley. I was leaning on the wall opposite. Sitting up slowly, I looked around. My head was still throbbing.
I saw a dark shadow crouched near me. For a moment, I was scared. Then I realized it was Aidan. His back was to me, and his head was in his hands.
“Aidan?” I croaked. I winced, reaching up, and my hand pulled away from my head with blood. Not a lot though, thank god.
“Does it hurt?” he asked emotionlessly, without turning around.
“Not really.” I was probably still in shock or something. “What happened?”
“I… kicked their asses,” he answered in the same monotone. “Carried you here. You were unconscious. Did they hurt you anywhere else?”
“No,” I said. I paused. “Thanks---”
“Don’t thank me,” he said harshly. “I got you into that crap in the first place. You shouldn’t have been there. It’s my fucking fault you’re hurt.” He struck a fist at the wall, angry.
I blinked, never seen him this angry. I mean, yeah, he was moody and had those scary silent glares all the time, but… “It’s not that bad…” I reached out to put a hand on his shoulder, but he jerked away suddenly.
“Don’t touch me,” he spat, and for a split second, I thought I caught a glimpse of red in his eyes. I froze, but he’d already turned away, staying as far as he possibly could from me.
I didn’t know what to do, what to think. I was a bit hurt, because I didn’t get what he was so worked up about… but did I just see what I thought I saw? I mean, he had green eyes. No one has red ones. It’s just my dreams haunting me, and my headache messing with me. Right?
My head was starting to spin, so I leant back against the wall, closing my eyes. Maybe I’ll just take a little nap…
