Tiana’s POV:
After dinner, I was in my room. I was trying to draw again, when it happened. The pain came slowly, a dull throb, and then my vision blanked. I saw red, red, more red… Then, glinting sharp…what were they, blades? Knives? Earrings? A flash of green eyes. And then it was over. Strange.
Feeling restless, I threw a white jacket over my tank top and walked out. Cautiously, I peered around the basement. Aidan was nowhere to be seen, and I sighed in relief. I tiptoed over to the sliding glass doors that led to the backyard. I was about to open it when a voice startled me.
“What the hell are you doing?”
I turned to find Aidan sitting up on the couch, his green eyes glaring at me. That was weird. I could’ve sworn he wasn’t there before. Even if he was lying down, I would’ve at least seen his foot or legs or something…
“I asked you a question,” he snapped, annoyed.
“I was just, um, I…” I stammered, unsure what to say. I was still confused. Deciding to go with the truth, I said, “I just wanted some fresh air.”
“In the middle of the night?” he said incredulously.
“It’s not that late,” I pointed out. Which was true, it was only a little after nine of so.
“Whatever.” Aidan laid back down on the couch.
I stared at him a little longer, then opened the door and headed outside. It was a bit chilly, as I was in my PJs, but it was nice. Helped clear my head a little at least.
“Needed to clear your mind, huh?” Aidan’s voice behind me made me jump. He sat beside me on the little bench in the backyard, leaning back and stretching his arms behind his head.
“Yeah,” I mumbled, glancing at him cautiously. His hot and cold thing was really confusing. Seriously.
Suddenly, he plopped his head in my lap. I gasped, surprised. “What are you doing?” I squeaked.
“What’s it look like?” he replied, eyes closed. He’d taken off his lip ring, which made him look less scary. “Your lap is comfy.”
WHAT? “Aidan, get off.”
“Why?” He opened one eye lazily.
“Because, it’s awkward.”
“It’s comfortable,” he repeated huskily.
“Aidan!” I was about to push him off, and he must’ve sensed it because he got off my lap. But he slid closer to me on the bench though.
“What did you see this time?” he asked quietly.
I hesitated. “A dark alley. I’ve seen it before, but I’m sure I’ve never been…”
“That’s it?”
“No…” I sighed. “Those eyes again…” I shuddered. “And something sharp.”
