Tiana's POV:
Taking a seat next to me, Nick gave me a smile. “Hey, Tiana,” he said.
“Hey, Nick,” I smiled back.
“Yo, Nickelhead,” Andrea said, poking Nick in the side. “How come you weren’t at the party?”
“Family stuff,” he replied, shrugging. “How was it?”
“Tiana got drunk for the first time,” grinned Andrea.
“Apparently something happened between you and Kieran,” I retorted.
She scowled, turning pink. “Don’t remind me.”
Nick stared. “Serious? Did you guys finally hook up or what?” he ducked as Andrea chucked her pastels at him.
“Don’t make me punch you, you moronic boy,” she threatened him, brandishing a rose pink pastel.
“Sorry! Never mind!” Nick said quickly, holding up his hands. “Touchy, eh?” he muttered to me. I laughed as he ducked again when a pink pastel sailed through the air.
We focused on our drawings for a while. Then Nick glanced over at me. “We still need to work on the science thing,” he told me. “We didn’t get to finish last time.”
I blushed slightly, thinking about what happened last time we met up to work. I felt bad for Nick, because I seriously couldn’t focus again after that whole thing with Aidan… “Oh, crap!” I said suddenly. “I didn’t do anything all weekend!” I was too busy playing mind games with my visions.
“That’s alright,” said Nick graciously. “How about we meet up again this week?”
“Sure.” I paused. “Um, how about your place?” I sure didn’t want another repeat of… you know. At least, not when I was working with Nick. I didn’t think I’d resist much if Aidan tried anything again. Jeez, what was I thinking? I shook my head back to art class.
“Okay. Today?”
“No,” Andrea replied for me. “Dance group today!”
“Oh,” I said. I turned back to Nick. “How about tomorrow? When is it due anyway?”
“Friday,” he answered, smudging his drawing of a sunset. “Sure. You can come over tomorrow.”
“Come over where?” Aidan suddenly appeared behind me, making us all jump. He was so quiet in the back I’d forgotten he was even in this class.
“Hi, Aidan,” said Andrea, looking at him curiously. He’d never tried to talk to me much in school before. Until today.
“Hi, Aidan,” Nick echoed less enthusiastically. He shut up, putting all his attention on his drawing, so intently I was surprised the sunset didn’t blush.
“I’m going over to Nick’s tomorrow,” I told Aidan, since no one else was going to. “To work on that science project?”
He blinked down at me, green eyes flashing. “Huh.”
