Chapter 8. Agreement

ANDREW
Michael rushes towards me as soon as I entered the classroom.

"Drew, she's back!" he said in between of his breathing

"Ano...sino?" I asked curiously.

"Si Lianne...your ex," Michael answered.

I let out an exasperate sigh as he sat on his chair.

"Kailan pa?"

"Ngayon lang, I saw her kanina d'yan sa labas ng school."

Again I let out an exasperate sigh and did nothing but to look at Michael.

ANDREW
I was walking at the hallway when Lianne, my ex girlfriend, came to my way and greeted me.

"Hi Drew, long time no see. How are you?" she greeted as if nothings happened. We broke up because she choose her career over me.

"I'm good, Ikaw kumusta naman?" I acted normal and looked straight to her eyes.

"As you can see, hindi rin nag-work 'yong career ko. That's why I'm back, to continued my study here."

"Good for you."

"Sayang lang kasi I choose my career over you, pero wala rin naman palang mangyayari."

So, gan'on lang? Ano ibig niyang sabihin babalikan niya lang ako whenever she feels like it? Ano ako laruan o bagay na pwedeng iwan at balikan kung kailan lang gusto?

"Pwede ba 'wag na nating pag-usapan 'yan?" ayaw ko na talagang pag usapan ang tungkol sa bagay na 'yan.

"Bakit apektado ka pa rin ba?" she moved closer to me and stared at me.

"Of course not. Tapos na kasi 'yon at 'di na dapat pag-usapan."

"May girlfriend ka na ba?" I was stunned and didn't know how to answer her question.

" Y-es of-course," I know I stuttered. I don't want her to think that I'm still in love with her. That's why he said that.

"Pwede mo ba siyang ipakilala sa'kin?

"Don't worry  one of these day you'll meet here."

"Sana nga."

"Oh, here she is... " I said and looked at Matina who just walking towards us.

MATINA
I was walking at the hallway and saw Andrew. He's talking to someone. They're talking seriously at the hallway. But I'm shocked when Andrew grabbed my hand and hugged me.

"This is Matina, my girlfriend," he said and gave her a just ride on look and smiled to her.

"Uuwi na ba tayo?" I asked out of nowhere.

"Gusto mo na bang umuwi honey? By the way... I would like to your meet Lianne."

"His ex-girlfriend," the girl continued and extended her hand to me.

"Ex-girlfriend!" I emphasize the word wx before accepting her hand for a handshake. I don't know but I feel irritated with her presence.

"By the way Lianne, we have to go," he said and smiled to the girl.

"Okay Andrew, see you around."

He accompanied me, and we walked towards his car.

ANDREW
"Anong ibig sabihin n'on Andrew?" she asked me as we hopped in my car.

"Be my girlfriend!" I said with. dtermination.

"What!" she exclaimed.

" 'Wag kang munang mangarap. Hindi naman totoo eh.... you just have to act that you're my girlfriend."

"At bakit para pagselosin 'yong babae mo?"

"No, para 'di kita isusumbong sa Mommy mo?"

"Ano?" she asked him curiously

"Hindi na kita isusumbong sa Mommy mo but you have to be my "girlfriend" I explained.

"Akala ko ba isusumbong mo ako? akala mo ba ayaw mong itolerate ako."

"Wala lang I just realized that at least I have to give you a benefits of the doubt. Tama ka, binigyan ka ng kaibigan mo ng ecstasy pero 'di mo naman tinanggap. Kailangang bigyan kita ng konsiderasyon."

"But the mere fact na pumunta ako d'on kasalanan na 'yon. Di ba iyon ang sabi mo?"

"Bakit ano nagbago na isip mo? Gusto mo nang isusumbong kita sa Mommy mo?"

"No... hindi! I'm just wondering bakit ngbago 'yong prinsipyo mo dahil lang sa isang babae?" the smirk started to form from her face. 'Yong ngising nang ininis.

"Don't use that tone on me Matina. Ano ba payag ka ba?"

"Magpapanggap akong girlfriend mo para 'di mo ko isumbong sa mommy ko?"

"Exactly... but don't worry, aarte ka lang naman. D'yan ka lang naman magaling 'di ba?"

She just rolled her eyes.

"Pag nand'yan lang naman si Lianne. Pag wala siya, then you're free, hindi mo kailangang umarte."

"Ginawa mo ba 'to para pagselosin siya? To win her back?"

"Think what do you want to think. Ang akin lang naman, gusto ko lang ipakita sa kanya that I'm moved on. Na kaya kong mabuhay kahit wala siya."

"So, mahal mo pa rin nga siya?"

"Whatever Matina, ano ba magpapaligoy-ligoy pa ba tayo?"

"Magpapaligoy-ligoy lang, walang tayo."

"Matina!" she's really testing my patience.

"Sige na payag na ko, Basta promise me, hindi mo ako isusumbong kay Mommy," she assuring me. I just nodded in respond.

"So, do we have an agreement? " I asked.

"Don't worry Andrew, You have my words."

She said and smiled at me.
