Chapter 53. Last dance

MATINA
Dahil wala nga si Daddy ay si Tito Ramon. ang naging first dance ko. Okay lang magkamukha naman sila. He resemblances of my late father. They have the same features, they have the same eyes and nose although mas matangos ang ilong ni Tito. Magkaboses din sila at parehong gumalaw.

"Dalaga ka na," aniya habang nagsasayaw kami. I flashed a sweet smile.

"Naalala ko tuloy n'ong bata ka pa umiihi ka pa sa salawal."

I pout "Tito naman don't talk about that!" He giggled as I said that.

"Si Andrew siya na ba?"

I knew this conversation would go this far. "What do you mean Tito?"

"Wala naalala ko lang n'ong nasa Manila ka pa, binabasted mo 'yong mga nanliligaw sa'yo matapos mong ipabili 'yong mga gusto mo."

Oh noh! Tito reminded me of the things I've done before. Noong bratinella pa ako. Oo tama si Tito, I've done those stupid things. Pag may nanligaw kasi sa akin mapapabili ako ng mga gusto ko and I'll rejected them after I got what I want. Wala namang nagtakang bumawi ng mga ibinigay nila.

"Naalala ko pa, nagpabili ako sa manliligaw ko ng cellphone at ticket trip to hongkong."

Nagkatawanan na lang kami ni Tito. Sometimes it's funny to think of your childhood memories. Pagkatapos ni Tito Ramon ay si Tito Rolando naman ang kasayaw ko na kapatid naman ni Mommy. Sunod ang eldest cousin ko na si Elijah at ang mas batang pinsan ko. Pati na rin mga kaibigan ko, they flew away to Manila for my debut.

Third to the last ay si Michael na best friend naman ni Andrew.

"You look beautiful tonight Matina."

"Thanks."

"You know, I planned to court you before."

"Seriously?" I asked unbelievably. I never imagine na liligawan ako ni Michael.

"Yes, pero pinigilan ako ni Andrew and now I found the answer."

I smiled with the thought. Pinigilan pala ni Andrew si Michael.

"Kamusta naman pala kayo ni Lianne?"

He furrowed her eyebrow and smirked. "Wala namang kami,"

I can sense the bitterness in his voice. Napangiti na lang ako.

Pagkatapos ni Michael ay pinasa na niya ako kay Dexter, My cousin supposedly my second to the last dance but he can't make it today so, Dexter replaced him.

"You look beautiful as ever Matina."

"Thank you Dex."

"Ang swerte talaga ni Andrew sa'yo."

"Many people says that but honestly mas maswerte ako sa kanya."

"I wish your happiness Matina, of course with Andrew."

Masaya ako na okay kami ni Dexter after I rejected him. No hard feelings. Buti hindi siya nagalit sa akin. S'yempre last dance si Andrew. Bago ako pinasa ni Dexter kay Andrew ay nag-iwan pa siya ng salita rito.

"Alagaan mo 'to, kundi aagawin ko siya sa'yo."

Andrew answered with a smirk "You can try...but you can't take her from me."

Seryoso 'yong expression nila pero alam ko naman na nagbibiruan lang sila. Dexter pat Andrew's shoulder bago ako tuluyang ipinasa.

I position my hand around his neck and he put his hand around my waist.
