Chapter Six
Grayson

"I don't get what her problem is."

It's been a few hours, and a few thousand messages, but Bailey hasn't come back.

The front door opens. "YOU TOLD BAILEY?"

"I didn't know that was the Bailey."

"Ethan my best friend Bailey loves you. Ethan my best friend Bailey hates your brother. RING A BELL?"

"I'm sorry!" Ethan runs his hand through his hair. "Please, I'm sorry."

Arianna sighs, rubbing her face. "I didn't want her to know."

"I know, I'm really sorry."

"It's okay."

"Okay."

Ari paces back and forth. "We've got to do something."

"I'll get close to her and date her?"

"Oh please, she hates you."

I look away, smirking. "Not for long." I jump up. "Where does she lives?"

Arianna texts me the address and I grab my keys, jogging out. I drive to the address she gave me. Then, climb out and walk to the front door.

Knock knock knock.

The door swings open. "Ew! Why're you here?" Bailey asks.

"Are you mad at Ethan?" I reply.

"No."

"Then why aren't you answering the gc?"

"Because I don't have to."

"Bailey-"

"Don't Bailey me, Grayson. Don't you get it? My best friend knew how much Ethan meant to me and behind my back was-is-dating him. How could she do that?"

"Why can't she be happy?"

Tears fill her eyes. "Why can't I?"

"What?"

"You don't understand how hard my life is. Ethan was my only hope, and now that's gone."

"That's not true-"

"They're together. They're a couple."

"I'm always available."

She slams the door.

I shrug, knocking again.

"Go away!" Bailey chokes on tears.

I sit down, resting against the door. "Nah, I'm good right here."

"I hate you, Grayson."

"I don't think you do."

"Well you think wrong." She sniffs, chuckling.

I sit there quietly.

About five minutes later, she speaks up. "Grayson? Did you leave?"

"No, I'm right here."

"I'm sorry."

"For what?"

"Being mean, you guys are equal."

"Oh, now that Ethan is taken, you're sliding into my lane?"

My phone goes off.

She gets a lot of replies, all of them saying PREACH or FINALLY.
