I laugh, setting up the table for dinner. "Hello Uncle Glenn!"

"Hey Lee!" He hugs me. Uncle Glenn was my favorite uncle in the whole family. He was like the dad I never had.

Ding. I check my phone.

Grayson😩💔; Have a good happy thanksgiving

I read the message and lock my phone, finishing what I was doing.

"I heard you had yourself a boyfriend." Uncle Glenn smiles. "What's his name?"

"Grayson, but we're in an argument right now." I say, folding napkins.

"Why?"

"Because I'm stupid."

"You're not stupid."

I stare up at him through my lashes. "Dumber than you think, Uncle Glenn."

He cocks his eyebrow and I look back down. I finish what I was doing.
