CHAPTER 58 Confusion

It was one sunny Saturday morning and I’m excited for Dwight and I’s date later. It actually wouldn’t be the dream date most girls want which is very formal and classy. It is just the usual hang out at the mall, because at the first place, the reason we’re going out is because I asked him to give me company in buying a gift for Daddy’s birthday tomorrow.

After lunch, around 1 o’clock in the afternoon, I fixed myself and get ready until the door bell rang – the cue that my boyfriend is already there to fetch me.

‘Boyfriend.’ Every time I hear or say that word, I pause for a while and let the reality sink into me. After all these days, I still can’t realize how deep I fall in love with him and let him be my ‘boyfriend’. The idea and the feeling are bizarre, I did not expect my dream to be mine, to love me, to court me, or even like me back. This is crazy! But I love it! :)

“Zoe, andito na si Dwight!” Mom called me from down stairs.

“Coming!” I shouted.

I face the mirror for the last time to see if there is something inappropriate in my face then went to the living room.

Sinalubong ako ni Mommy sa hagdan, “I told your Daddy na may date lang kayo ni Dwight,” sabi ko kasi kay Mommy ‘wag nyang sabihin na bibili ako ng gift for Daddy.

“Himala pumayag ata?” I asked.

“I forced him,” she gave me a quick laugh. “Hindi nya mapipigilan ang pagdadalaga mo.”

And for that, shout out to my Mommy! ^_^

“Alis na po kami, Tita, Tito,” naka-ngiting paalam ni Dwight. Tumango lang si Daddy at si Mommy naman ay nagsabi ng “ingat.”

I sat in the car beside him.

“And I’ve got all that I need! Right here in the passenger seat!” Dwight, all of a sudden, sang his throat out. At sobrang sintunado sya at masakit sa tenga! Pero ang sweet :’’)

“Ang sakit sa tenga Dwight!” reklamo ko.

“You ignored my sweetness just because I don’t have a good voice,” he sadly pouted his lips.

“Inaasar lang kita. ‘Wag mo ‘ko artehan!” sabi ko.

“I’m having a hard time to be a sweet boyfriend and you can’t appreciate it,” he said and then stepped on the gas. “Feel my anger.”

At feel na feel ko nga yung ‘anger’ daw nya. Pinaharurot nya yung kotse nya sa high way, kulang na lang hulihin kami ng mga MMDA sa bilis nya. Jusko ‘tong lalaking ‘to! Naging habit na nya ang mabilis na pagpapatakbo ng kotse. Well that’s Dwight for you.

Alam ko naman nag-iinarte lang sya kanina at nagtatampu-tampuhan kaya pinabayaan ko lang sya, haha!

Sa SM Aura kami nagpunta. Hindi kasi crowded tsaka bago lang. Pareho kaming hindi pa nakakapunta dito.

The mall was nice and clean. Maraming mapagpipiliian ng pwedeng iregalo kay Daddy.

“What do you wanna do first?” he asked.

“Uhm, we’re here for Daddy’s gift, remember?” I reminded him.
