CHAPTER 43 Advices
“Oy, Zoe!”
“Oh Dwight? Bakit andito ka?”
“This is our school, right?”
“Yes. I mean, bakit parang pauwi ka na?” I tried to clear my question.
“Uwian na naman ‘di ba?” But he yet again stated the obvious.
“Yes. I mean, ‘di ba dapat nasa faculty ka?” I tried again.
“I am a student Zoe, I’m not a teacher,” he teasingly chuckled.
“I know. What I mean is –“
“What do you mean, Zoe?” he interrupted me. Inaasar nya lang ako eh!
“’Di ba dapat hindi ka pa umuuwi dahil dapat nasa faculty ka pa ngayon ginagawa ang mga dapat mong gawin bilang student assistant?” This time I’m sure I have cleared what I meant.
“Two weeks lang yun. Tapos na parusa ko :)” sagot nya.
“Good for you :)” – ako
“Kaya ihahatid kita ngayon,” sabi nya na parang hindi ko sya mapipigilan.
“Hey baby girl!”
Nag-stop ako sa paglalakad. Tumingin ako sa tumawag sa’kin.
“You goin’ home?” tanong sa’kin ni Rence pagka-lapit nya.
“What do you call her?” tanong naman ni Dwight kay Rence.
“Baby girl. She’s my baby girl,” sagot nya sabay akbay sa’kin.
One day kasi habang magkakasama kami nila Rence at Zac, hiniram ni Rence yung phone ko out of the blue – yes, I let them borrow my phone because they also let me borrow theirs – then pinalitan nya ng ‘Baby Boy’ yung name nya sa contacts ko. Tapos pinalitan nya din ng ‘Baby Girl’ yung name ko sa contacts nya. That’s where that name came from :)
“Take your hands off of her!” Dwight told him in a warning tone.
“Why should I?” Rence asked teasingly as if he doesn’t care what Dwight can do.
Nag-tangka si Dwight na tanggalin yung braso ni Rence sa’kin pero hindi nya tinuloy instead he just stared angrily at him.
Hindi ko alam anong pumigil sa kanya pero okay na din na hindi nya tinuloy. Siguro alam nyang mabi-bwisit lang ako kapag nagka-gulo nanaman sila.
“So baby girl, are you goin’ home with this guy?” Rence asked me after nyang tanggalin yung pag-akbay sa’kin.
“Yeah, he’s bringing me home,” I answered.
“Oh. I thought you can come with me at our unit.. but take care, okay?:)” – Rence
“Nagpupunta ka sa kanila?!” tanong ni Dwight
“Yes, why? Problem with that?” Si Rence and sumagot.. ng patanong.
Hindi na sumagot si Dwight at tumalikod na lang.
“So maybe some other time you could come :)” Rence told me.
“Sure :)” – ako
“Bye, baby girl :)” – Rence
“Bye ,baby boy :D” natatawa-tawa pa ‘ko sa tawagan namin hahaha!
