CHAPTER 63 Grounded

**ZOE’S POV**

I have been in this hell for more than a week now. I have been grounded. I have been breathing the air in this house for more than a week and I must say I am suffocated already. Good thing is, some of my friends (Gail, Rence, and Zac) are visiting me so I can at least left my room to attend to them. I have been a good girl. I have been obeying all the rules and commands of my father since he saw me having dinner with Dwight – which totally infuriated him. Well, I am complying with all that he wants except for the fact that I am still with Dwight.

Ang buhay ko ngayon ay katulad sa buhay ng mga teenager na sobrang matino. Matino, in a sense na school at bahay lang ang ruta ko ngayon. No hanging out whether it’s at the mall, at a coffee shop or anywhere else. No visiting to Rence and Zac’s place. No walking in the park. And I’m not even allowed to go to school and home alone. Because Daddy told Dric to always bring me home, to always be with me inside and out of the school and not leave my side wherever I go. In a shorter term, Daddy wants Dric to be my bodyguard, well, a bodyguard with no fee and it seems like he’s taking advantage of Dric’s admiration to me just to pull me away from Dwight.

Dwight and I only see each other at school and nothing really change between us here. As usual, we eat together and do stuffs together like a normal couple. We always try to have a special day in an ordinary way. Sans the rumors and Beatrice’s tranquility is also a good thing. Since school is our only space, we should really make sure to keep everything good.

What gets in our good day is his annoyance whenever he sees Dric with me or even when he just sees him around the area where I also was. But I don’t let that destroy our day and I make certain that his attention is on me, not with Dric or our problem.

In any case, Dwight is the person perfect for me to forget my problems.

Mommy yelled my name from downstairs telling me to go down for I have a visitor. That yell itself is enough for me to jump off my bed with enthusiasm. At last, after exactly 1 hour and 27 minutes, they’re here! :)

Oh, did I just really reckon the time I was inside my room?

Well, I was expecting Rence and Gail to come over because they told me so earlier at school. They, including Zac, are alternately visiting me just to give personal entertainment because they know that I have a fucked up life inside this four-cornered structure.

Nagpunta ako sa sala at naabutan ko silang makatabing naka-upo sa sofa. I noticed how close they are being these past few months. They are smiling and laughing at each other – which is very odd for Gail considering that she is aloof with boys. But hey, we are also talking about Rence, so I guess that is just normal.

Gail brought some DVD’s for me to choose from and for us to enjoy. And she said she purposely bought This Is Us (A One Direction Movie) before going here. Well my best friend knows me so well, as you can see :)

With no doubt and any second thought, I picked This Is Us from all the movies she handed me. And I swear in that moment, I saw Rence rolled his eyes. But I appreciate how he remained not complaining about my movie choice.

“Hey Zoe,” Rence whispered close to my ear while we are watching.

“We’re in the middle of an ama-Zayn movie, Rence. Don’t talk,” I said while enjoying seeing five beautifully perfect beings in the screen in our dark living room where the only light is coming from the television display.
