CHAPTER 9 Commotion

I ran towards the crowd.

Malapit lang kaya nakarating kagad ako sa kinaroroonan ng mga tao.

“Excuse me. Excuse me.” I said as I wave off a person after another.

I was bumping many people but I don’t care. My concern here is Zoe only.

Nang makarating nako sa gitna nung circle…

I saw Zoe.

She’s okay… I think?

“Hey what happened?” I asked her.

“Nothing,” she answered, giving me the impression that she’s trying to hide her face as she looks down.

Then she ran. Sa comfort room yata ang punta nya because she took it’s path.

Then I saw Gail.

“Hey Gail. What’s up?” I asked her.

“Wait I need to comfort her,” she replied then ran after Zoe.

But why did she needs to comfort Zoe?

Zoe seems okay.

I need to know.

Tinignan ko yung mga taong nakapalibot kanina na unti-unti nang nag-alisan.

And then I saw one of her friends.

“Hey you need to tell me what happened,”  I asked Louise, gripping her wrist. Pilit syang kumakalas.

I will not let her go until she tells me.

“I’ll let you go if you’d tell me the whole story,” I let her know.

“Okay!” she, then, stopped fighting.

Then tinignan ko sya ng parang nagsasabing simulan mo na.

“Ganito,” Louise started, “Si Sarah ang may kasalanan. Nagsimula sa-”

“What? Why her?”

“Would you like me to continue?” she asked after I cut her off.

“Of course!” I said.

“Then I need no interruptions.” – Louise

Tumahimik naman ako.

“Kasi nga, naglalakad si Zoe tapos bigla nyang hinawakan sa wrist.” Tapos biglang tumitingin si Louise sa wrist nya na hawak ko pa pala. Binitawan ko na din dahil sigurado na akong ike-kwento nya sa akin ang nangyari.

“Proceed,” I ordered her.

“Pinaharap nya sa kanya si Zoe. She told my friend that she’s a total slut. Bakit daw nilalandi ni Zoe si Edward. Sakanya lang daw si Edward. Zoe will not be Edward’s type pa daw. Puro paninisi ng kung ano-ano ang lumabas sa bibig nyang bwisit na haliparot mong ex Dwight!” her tone’s slowly getting high, “And here’s the climax.. She slapped Zoe’s left cheek! Argh! The nerve of that woman!” Halatang galit si Louise sa mga nangyari. And wait..

What?! Sinampal?!

“What the fuck? Sinampal?? At teka ano bang meron kay Edward and Zoe?” I cleared.

“Oo sinampal ng ex mo and friend ko and I am telling you Dwight, lintik lang ang walang ganti! And that Edward? He’s just Zoe’s prom partner. Plain and Simple,” paliwanag nya.
