5. The Storm Part 2
Thunder is good, thunder is impressive, but it is the lightning that does all the work. -Mark Twain

"What is it?" I asked him.
"You heard my conversation." It sounded more like a statement then a question.
"Yes?" I answered, unsure.
"You know, Arden, you shouldn't be listening in to other people's business." Zane crossed his arms.
"How did you even know I was listening?"
Zane rolled his eyes. "Well, first of all, you just told me, second, I heard you."
I closed my eyes in thought. He heard me listening.
What the hell?
Out of all the stupid things I've heard in my entire life.....
"How the hell do you hear someone listening to your conversation?" I asked Zane.
He pointed to the window, once again. "You're a smart girl, I'm pretty sure you know what the storm is doing to me." I nodded my head. "When your eyes shift, the glow let's off a frequency."
Since Zane if associated with lightning, he has a connection with electricity.
Electricity....
So, when my eyes gave off a frequency, Zane could hear it.
Zane snapped his fingers in front of my face. "See, like that." He told me. "Bottom line, mind your own damn business."
Zane pushed pass me and started to walk out when I stopped him.
"I don't think so." I crossed my arms and Zane gave me a cautious look. "Something is going on and I'm going to figure it out." Zane looked at me before he walked out the classroom.
As soon as he was out of sight, I dashed out the room.
I was running to find Someone. Partially, anyone out of three.
Then, I spotted the man bun.
Yes!
I quickly went up to Ali who was talking to this guy. Ali quickly stopped his conversation.
"Arden, what's wrong?" He asked me.
I held my finger up for him to give me a second. Jeez, I can't even run for 30 seconds without wanting to pass out.
"I need your help." I told him breathlessly. He squinted his eyes at me.
"Okay.." Ali said slowly. I pulled him into a quiet corner.
"You know Andrew, right?" I asked hopefully. Ali nodded. "Do you know what he is, exactly."
"His mom is Aphrodite." Ali said matter-of-factly.
"So that means he's-"
"Eros." Ali cut me off. To mortals he was also known as Cupid. I nodded my head.
That explains a lot.
Like a lot.
"What about Nate?" I asked.
"Ohh, ohh, I know this one! His mom is Nemesis."
I rolled my eyes at his immaturity, but I laughed.
Nate's mom is Nemesis, the goddess of revenge. Okay, I definitely don't want to get on his bad side, but it seems Zane's already made that list.
I wonder why.....
