Arden's P.O.V

"When I see him, i'm going to slit his throat." Nikki growled.

Armani nodded her head in agreement. "Hayden has gone way too far with this." She was chewing away on her necklace.

We were sitting in the gymnasium with all the students of Green Brook. I told Armani and Nikki about Nate and Aspasia. Nikki, of course, went off like a firecracker. It wasn't pretty to see.

That moment I had with Zane still swam around in my head. I want to forget about it, but at the same time, I don't want to. I really don't want to.

He was sitting on the left of Nikki and Ali was on Armani's right.

Funny, how I always end up in the middle of things.

The thought came back to me, something I didn't quite understand. Where did Ali go when Aspasia attacked me?

He still hasn't given me or any of us a valid explanation. It made me wonder, but...

I could tell he really felt bad. He apologized like crazy that he wasn't around...I could practically feel the tension between him and Zane. They haven't uttered a word to each other. I put my attention back to Vice Principal Matthews. The staff gathered all the students for a special announcement. "I'm pretty sure you all know about the peculiar events that has been going on lately." He bagan and the students started murmuring.

"Oh god." Nikki mumbled.

"Between the absence of Principal Liam who is now checked into the hospital, the oak tree in the garden that has been diminished, and the windows in the cafeteria. As a unit, the staff decided to enforce more strict rules. We don't know what's going on or who's trying to be funny, but it needs to stop immediately."

"Bullshit." Nikki sighed next to me.

Vice Principal Matthews went on and on about the new rules. After he was done he dismissed us, the five of us slowly and silently made our way to the library. Me, Nikki, Armani, Ali, and Zane.

When we arrived, we all avoided eyes contact with each other. Everything just felt weird.

The next sound was Ali's sigh. He turned to Zane. "Come on, Z. Say something." He looked at him but Zane didn't return the gaze.

You could tell he was angry, and I suddenly felt something was going to happen. Something bad.

"I have nothing to say to you." Zane's expression was hard and stern, showing no emotion at all.

"Bullshit." Ali shook his head. "Curse me out, teach me a lesson, do something!" Silence. I looked over to Zane and I strongly believe he was on the verge of snapping. "She got hurt, Zane....because of me..."

It happened really fast. Zane took Ali by the collar and pinned him up against the wall. Zane nor Ali were angry. They both wore pained expressions; like they were hurt. "You..you were supposed to be there...you were supposed to protect her." Zane said quietly.

"I know, and i'm sorry. I really am. I know how much she means to you, and I promise, i'll never let anything happen to them again. Any of them." Ali told him seriously.

Zane looked over to the three of us just staring. He looked at Ali and pulled him into a tight hug. You know, the ones your brothers do after they had a fight.
