21. Pick a Card...Ace...

It was quiet. The library was really quiet. The gods and goddesses didn't find out that we were trying to get the Kai. All this for protection.

Ace, Nikki, Armani, Zane and myself sat in the library, just looking at each other. We didn't want to talk about what just happened. That whole scene with the gods shook us up a little. Especially when my mother and Medusa got into it. I think that scared all of us. I think the final Shit-your-pants moment was when Zeus made the room rock.

Armani hadn't uttered a single word since we saw the video of her and Hayden making out exclusively in an empty classroom.

I know it was the attraction. She couldn't help it. She seemed horrified that we all saw. Also, if i'm being honest, Ace didn't seemed bothered by it at all. Weird.

I still haven't locked gazes with Zane. He seemed pretty upset about the scene Andrew and I had and I did feel guilty.

"Is anyone going to say anything? This is getting pretty awkward." Ali muttered.

"I'm sick and tired of this bullshit." Zane grumbled. "Arden?"

I winced and slowly looked up to lock gazes with Zane.

Oh god, here it comes.

"Why-why didn't you tell me?" He whispered, looking at me incredulously.

For the first time, i'm seeing Zane...sad. Or was it disappointed? I'm not sure but I didn't like it. I felt the urge to wrap him in a hug.

I stood up. "Zane, i'm sorry- I really am...it's just-i didn't-I couldn't- look, Zane, i'm just really sorry okay. You have to know it was the attraction."

"Okay, Arden." Zane cut me off with a sigh. "Just promise me one thing." He walked up to me and looked down at me. "Just promise me from now on, we tell each other the truth. Okay?"

I nodded my head. "Okay."

"Not to ruin this incredibly cute moment, but what are we going to do now?" Ali asked. "We still have a lot of issues that we need to sort out."

"Like what?" Ace asked.

I just narrowed my eyes at him. There's definitely something going on.

Zane opened his mouth to say something but Armani cut him off.

"Okay, okay! I'm sorry! I'm sorry I didn't tell anyone about Hayden and I! He just randomly showed up one day and I couldn't- couldn't push him away! I wanted to, I really did, but I couldn't! Okay, Ace, I'm really sorry. I'm so sorry I didn't tell you!" She rambled all in one breathe. We all just stared at her.

"Well, damn." Nikki mumbled.

She looked at Ace incredulously and expectantly. "Well say something."

Ace just shrugged with a blank look. "Don't worry about it." He said simply.

"What do you mean, don't worry about it?" I asked folding my arms.

"It's not that big of a deal. She kissed him, so what?" Ace shrugged again.

"Oh." Armani whispered as she sat back down. She seemed disappointed and hurt.
