~Ethan's P.O.V.~
I sit at the table. My hands trembling like a small child. I've been here for about five minutes now and she is no where to be seen. I just want to see her. I want to hug her. I want her to be mine again. Rebecca isn't the one that I wanted after all. It's Leila. It's always been Leila, but I was to blind to see what was right in front of me.
Leila is my everything. I love her. I'm in love with her, but she's not mine. I wish I could just take it all back. I wish I could turn back time to time good old days.
I stare at a picture of Leila and Ollie in my phone. They all look so happy. I want to be apart of that happiness. I want to be apart of my family. A burning sensation starts in my eyes. A tear falls from my right eye,but I quickly wipe it away.
I see Leila enter the restaurant. She looks so perfect. She looks around,looking for me. She smiles lightly,when I catch her eye. She walks towards me and I smile.
I get up from my seat and she hugs me. I hug her back,and her aroma is amazing. She smells so good,like flowers in a way.
"It's good to see you,Ethan." She says.
"It's good to see you too." I say.
We sit down at the table. She looks down at her menu ,and I admire her face. She is the most beautiful person in the world. The way her hair falls onto her shoulders. The way her eyebrows scrunch,as she reads. The way her eyes wander everywhere. I love it all,but she's not mine anymore.
"Ethan! Ethan!" She snaps at me.
"Huh?" I say snapping out of my trance.
"Did you hear me?" She asks.
"No,I wasn't paying attention." I say.
"I said,what are you gonna order?" She smiles.
"Oh..I don't know." I say,looking at the menu for the first time.
"Are you okay? You're acting weirder than usual." She says.
"Um...yeah. I'm fine." I say.
"OK." She says.
The waiter comes to our table and Leila looks up from her menu. She has the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen. She's beautiful.
"Hi,my name is Andrew and I will be your server for this evening. Can I start you two off with something to drink?" He asks politely.
"I'll have a water." I say.
"I'll just have a lemonade,thank you." She says.
He nods and walks away. I turn my attention back to Leila.
"So,what did you want to see me for?" She asks.
"I have something that I need to talk to you about." I say.
"Okay." She smiles.
I take a huge huff. My palms are sweaty and my heart is heavy. I don't want her to reject me,but I need to do this. I have to get this off of my chest before it's too late. I look her in the eyes and take one more breath.
"I think I want to divorce Rebecca." I say.
"What? Why?" She asked.
"I just don't feel the spark that I used to." I say.
"Maybe, you two can work it out. What's something you love about her?" She asks.
"I really don't know." I say.
"Well, what are some qualities that you find attractive?" She asks.
"A pretty smile,beautiful eyes, a kind heart, really beautiful personality." I say.
"You just described Rebecca." She smiles.
"I just described you." I say.
"What?" She asks.
"I love you." I say.
"I don't know what to say." She says.
"Say you love me back." I say.
"Ethan, I love you but not in the way that you want me to." She says.
"No. Don't tell me that. Don't tell me that you're not in love with me anymore." I say.
"I'm sorry,but I'm in love with Nate now. Nothing will change that,Ethan." She says.
"Give me another chance." I plead.
"You had your chance." She says.
I can see her eyes swelling up with tears. She's crying,and that's how I know she still cares. I have to get Nate out of the way.
I will get my family back.
I will get Leila back.
