J-Hope wouldn't say that he was asleep. That's because he wasn't. He tried to sleep but he couldn't so he just closed his eyes to rest them for a while.
He sat still on that arm chair listening to Taehyung's comforting heart beat.
In all honesty, the sound of Taehyung's heart beat was the only thing that kept J-Hope from going insane and all depressed. It assures him that the younger was alive.
However, that wasn't enough.
'Taehyung, surviving is one thing. Living is another so wake up and play with me. Like how we used to... before I started ignoring you. I know now... what you must have felt like being met with rejections all the time. And it hurts like hell and I'm sorry I was the one who caused it. Maybe your silence is your way of getting back at me? Getting back at us? But this is too much, Tae. We can't hold on any longer. You gotta wake up. We've been selfish before... And I know that I'm being selfish now, too, for wanting you to wake up just to take this crashing weight off of my chest. But it hurts so much, Tae. I'm dying and I'm not even the one who was in a car accident. It was you... I'm so sorry... I'm so sorry... Hobi hyung would be here when you wake up... So please wake up... You gotta wake up... You have to wake up... Please... Please.... Won't you?'
He waited for an answer and was only met with the younger's heart beat.
He could hold on to the tears that hang on to his closed eyes but when he heard Jimin talking to Taehyung, he could no longer stop them. It overflowed.
J-Hope slowly sat up and looked at Jimin who had Yoongi back-hugging him.
The scene warmed his heart.
His members were trying to stay strong for each other.
Somehow, that gave him strength.
He then made eye contact with a teary-eyed Jin.
The elder gave him a comforting smile which he later returned- a silent assurance that everything would be okay.
And J-Hope believed him.
Everything would be okay.
Taehyung would wake up soon.
Because Taehyung is Taehyung. He wouldn't leave them.
He wouldn't.
He'd wake up...
