He lied awake on the hospital bed, staring at the familiar white ceiling in deep thought, the bear, Nick Wilde, lion and puppy tucked in with him.
They being there strangely made his heart feel warm and his mind calm. It helped organise his thoughts and think through everything properly.
He still couldn't stomach the thought of speaking of his... problems. He just couldn't. It terrified him beyond anything else. But he wanted to tell them. He had to.
But how?
The door to his room suddenly clicked open.
When he turned his gaze from the ceiling towards it, he wasn't surprised to see the nurse coming in with another soft toy and presumably another card.
The nurses always came in the morning to check on him and give him his daily dose of medicine. He guessed the soft toys and cards were an add to their task.
He got along well with them. Mainly because he's grateful to them for taking care of him although it was their job to. It was in his nature to be kind and courteous to others he guessed.
"Good morning, Mr Kim," she said with the sweetest smile he'd grown accustomed to. "How are you feeling?"
"I feel fine, thank you," he smiled back with his sweetest as well. "Good morning. What about you?"
"Hm?" she asked in confusion.
"How are you feeling?"
She let out a chuckle.
"I feel good today."
She started fumbling over the stems that were connected to his arm. She even checked the IV and looked over the digits on the screen above his bed that showed
his vitals."Your blood pressure's slightly low," Taehyung could hear the frown in the tone of her voice. "Are you sure you're feeling fine? Not drowsy? Or wounds itchy?" she gave him a questioning look that was slightly tainted with amusement.
Taehyung gave a sheepish grin. "I kind of feel light headed. And my stomach keeps churning. It's uncomfortable."
He thought she'd start scolding him for lying to her but she laughed instead.
"That is not the definition of feeling fine, Mr Kim. You have to tell me these kind of things or else I wouldn't know how to help you. Do you feel like vomitting again?"
Taehyung shook his head, forgetting his still stiff neck, and winced.
She just laughed at him and asked him to be more careful with his movements.
As if remembering the toy and the card, she placed them on his lap and smiled.
"Your friends left this again."
"Are they outside?"
She shook her head. "Actually they were sitting around the door outside waiting for me and asked if I could pass you these like yesterday. They went to the director's office afterwards. With manager-nim."
"Director's office? What for?" Taehyung frowned as he picked up the soft toy, Judy, and studied it with a tug on his chest.
Judy wasn't his. It was Jungkook's so he figured the card was from him as well.
The nurse didn't answer and so he looked at her only to find that she was chewing on her lower lip nervously as she looked over the clipboard that held his medical information.
He wanted to ask why she was acting that way but she spoke first.
"I don't know," she gave him a reassuring smile that said otherwise. But he smiled back anyway. "Dr Lee should be coming by early this afternoon. I'll tell him about what you're feeling. Do you need anything before I leave?"
