Chloe's POV
We eventually, after a 3 mile hike, had our shower in the little shower block and made it to the beach in time for fireworks. We picked a spot where no one was and set down some blankets and food and alcohol. Benji came over with Emily and they both carried firewood which they placed in a pile in the middle of us. Beca struck a match and flicked it down into the pile of wood before coming to sit behind me on our blanket and putting a leg either side of me and wrapped her arms round me, giving my cheek a quick peck.

We had plastic glasses of wine dished out and raised them all up. "Happy birthday to Jesse!" Beca yelled and we all said "cheers" before taking a sip of our wine.

"Its so cold" i whispered, shivering slightly and folding my arms over my chest and crossing my skirt clad legs. I heard Beca unzip her bomber jacket and felt it round my shoulders and over my cardigan, warm from where it had been on her, i turned my head round and saw her only sitting in a t shirt. "Becs, you don't have to gimme this, you don't have anything on" i said and went to take it off, she stopped me and placed it on my shoulders again.

"I'll live" she said with a smile, i looked at her in awe and pecked her lips, she then kissed my head and placed her chin on my shoulder as we turned back round and waited for the fireworks who were being set off by this licensed company for Guy Fawkes night.

"Who fancies marshmallows?" Amy asked and pulled out a huge bag of white and pink marshmallows. A smile spread on everyone's face as she opened them and sent round some sticks with the bag and everyone took a few and slotted them on the top before holding then over the fire. Beca put two on a stick for me before throwing then over to Lily.

"Shit, im on fire!" Beca squeaked and i looked and saw her marshmallows in a small blaze, everyone laughed at her and she took her hands off me to sort out her situation, she waved them around and eventually the flames went out and she was left with a burnt black thing on the end. "They're certainly well done" she said with wide eyes before sighing and raising them to her mouth. I did the same with mine which were in fine condition. She popped them in her mouth and her face contorted in disgust, i bit into mine and watched her, she shook her head violently before turned round and spitting them out an gagging loudly. I burst out laughing, my own marshmallow nearly falling out my mouth. She grabbed the bottle of wine and took a long swig of it before swilling it around her mouth and swallowing hard.

"That was gross" she whispered and gagged again before wrapping her arms round me.

More people had arrived for the display now and we were just watching the man in a bright pink polo shirt with Animation Team written on the back, which in guessing was the name of the company, light all the fuses then run away as quickly as possible. We saw him again standing on a podium.

"10! 9! 8..." He started shouting, so everyone joined in.

"7! 6! 5! 4! 3! 2! 1!" And with that he leapt off the podium, covering his head as about 20 different fireworks sizzled and squealed up into the air and popped with an almighty bang, spurting colours of pinks, purples, reds, blues...every colour you can imagine. We all watched in awe, cooing at some of the shapes being made. The sky was a plethora of light and colour bursting here and there. As soon as one firework faded out, another took its place. A few of the guys in protective suits went round and lit some more which were following on. You literally couldn't see the black sky anymore for the amount of bright light and sparks, it was amazing. The final firework was a bright red outline of a love heart which expanded as it faded out. It took my breath away. I awed to myself and Beca kissed my cheek. I turned my head and she pressed her lips to mine and i put a hand on the back of her head as we moved in sync together. I rested my head back on her shoulder and she hugged me tightly.
