“Neighbours?”

“Yeah, we saw you come in here last night and I thought we should come see if you were ok.”

“Don’t be nice to her.”

“Please excuse her, she’s not her best in the mornings.”

“I could tell.”

“So, I’m Spencer, hello, and this is Juliette.”

“What’s your name?”

“Mika.”

“Let’s just leave her here.”

“We’re both very excited to meet you.”

“Yeah, it sounds it.”

“Can I ask you a question?”

“No.”

“Oh.”

“I’m joking.”

“Oh, ha!”

“Your question?”

“Ah yes, um, what are you doing here?”

“You sound surprised to see me.”

“Well, I kind am, we haven’t seen another full blooded human in Paris for ages.”

“Are you even a full blooded human?”

“Don’t be so rude Ju.”

“I am yes. Are you?”

“We both are yes, would you like some tea?”

“Tea?”

“Yeah, tea.”

“What’s that?”

“Dear god, you did not just say that. Juliette, she’s coming over.”

“What?”

“Just to have some tea.”

It turns out that, just tea for Spencer is two days leading onto a third, Juliette stayed in her room and sulked most of the time but Spencer was really nice, it sickened me at times but other times it was nice to have someone to talk to. We didn’t talk about The Robo or any screwed up event, we talked about everything from tea – which I found quite bitter but drank anyway, to horses, Juliette and Spencer have one called Saviour. Ironic.

As I said before, I’ve been with them both for two days, so far the only things I’ve learnt about them is, One, they’re siblings, Two, Juliette’s really bitchy, Three, Spencer likes Arnott Biscuits and Four, their parents, as well as Juliette’s fiancée died in the first attack. I haven’t told them anything about my past, and Spencer likes to talk so I just let him talk and I listen, I’m good at listening.

“So, when are we going?”

“Going where?”

“Juliette, you had to bring that up didn’t you?”

“Well, yeah.”

“Where are you going?”

“We were going to raid the next town.”

“Oh, I can stay here if you two want to go.”

“No!”

“Yes!”

They both glare at each other.

“Are you any good at fighting Mika?”

“It depends, are you Spencer?”

“Ooh, flirting. I hope you’ve not been doing this all the time.”

“Mika, let me show you to the courtyard.”

“Why? What’s in the courtyard?”

“Space to spar.”

We go outside and I take in the courtyard, I haven’t been here yet and I’m quite blown away. It’s not very big because we’re still in Paris but, like Spencer said, it’s space to spar. Lined up against the Saviours stable are wooden stick, swords and guns. Then there’s a shed, which apparently has all the real weapons. Spencer holds out a wooden sword, which I take from him and start to twirl around. I’m showing off heaps, but I don’t care. I look at him as he pulls out his own sword and takes his place in front of me. Not taking my eyes off Spencer, we start to circle each other. I hear Juliette scoff but I ignore her, Spencer however does not. He turns to her for a split second, big mistake.

Mika, one, Spencer, zero.

“Ow!” Spencer cries. Juliette’s laughing now and I have a smile on my face. Spencer glares at me, but with playfulness in his eyes. Ok Spencer, let’s spar.
