Mika’s POV

“I thought I might find you here.” I exhale a ring of cigarette smoke as someone approaches me.

“What do you want Juliette?” I take another drag on my ciggy and she sits next to me.

“I just want to chat. We haven’t caught up in a while.” I coolly exhale more smoke before answering.

“Okay, let’s chat Juliette.” I’m met by silence.

“Oh? Got nothing to chat about? Okay, that’s fine, it was nice seeing you anyhow.” I laugh and walk away.

“I know you saw Lucas.” I stop and turn around. I take a long shaky drag of my ciggy as Juliette walks towards me.

“Who sorry?” I try to act like I couldn’t care less but she can tell I’m shaking as I puff out smoke, she coughs a bit before replying.

“How do you think he felt after seeing you fight against his side? He must be so confused, so uncertain, so… heartbroken.” She smiles smugly.

“Heartbroken?! Who is this guy?” She continues to smile. I take my last drag of my ciggy, I drop it and put it out with my foot.

“Mika!” Rast runs to me and I turn around. He stops when he sees Juliette in front of me and a hand goes to his forehead.

“Ma’am.” She nods at him and the hand goes down, whilst I’m rolling my eyes.

“What is it Rast?” He looks uncertainly at Juliette over my shoulder; she takes the hint and walks a bit away from us, but not far enough.

“The Boss wants us to do a scout, apparently there’s a group of them coming to us.”

To us? That’s never happened before. Okay, I’m coming let me just finish this.” I nod towards Juliette who is inspecting her nails. Rast looks confused but nods and walks a bit away and I walk to Juliette under the tree.

“I don’t want us to chat again okay? Ever.” She nods slowly and I breathe smoke into her face before walking away sassily to Rast who looks amused.

Before I reach Rast I drop the cigarette and squash it beneath my foot. I turn to Juliette one last time and yell to her.

“That Juliette,” I point down to the squashed cigarette butt, “Is what I will do to those who get in my way.” Her face suddenly goes from amused to serious.

“Get in the way of what?” She yells back. I walk away, past Rast.

“My answers.” I whisper to myself.
