Well New York, we meet again.

We’re cruising down the streets of New York, and it’s not as sublime as it sounds. New York – or what’s left of it, is now just a place full of crazies and drug addicts, it’s not safe at all. The thugs rule the streets while the children are eaten alive. Not literally, that would be just stupid. Spencer is looking out the window in a disgusted awe whilst Lucas and I are trying to avoid looking at what New York has now become, we remember it when it was full of lights and tall buildings, this is the first time Spencer has seen New York and he’s seeing torn down and vandalised buildings with people being so primitive they are now classed as apes.

Too bad, so sad. That’s what my stepfather used to say to me if things didn’t turn out the way I wanted, it’s actually what he said to me when my mother told me about my arranged marriage to Harold. Supportive, I know. Besides he didn’t care about me, he just wanted my mother.

Whoa Mika, easy on the memories, just live in the now babe.

“Excuse me?” Lucas says with a hint of amusement in his voice.

“What?” Did I say something?

“Just live in the now babe?” He’s very amused now, a smile tugging at his lips. Dear god, I said that out loud, how many times have I done that now? Geez!

“Just talking to myself.” I shrug.

“You call yourself babe?” Spencer turns around, the same amused smile on his face.

“Shut up!” I fold my arms in front of me and they both start laughing. After a while I join in too. It’s a good distraction; it takes our attention away from the streets.

We laugh some more until Lucas starts to pull into a driveway, a driveway that leads up to a dump. Oh how I miss Paris.

“Why are we pulling into this place?” Spencer asks, clearing fearing the fact that this is home for now.

“The Robo will never find us here, and it’s close to,” He trails off, close to where?

“Never mind, I know this place is a dump but it’s the best we’ve got.”

“But,” Spencer tries to argue.

“Or would you prefer to sleep on the streets with god knows who waiting to kill you?” Lucas scold impatiently, I feel like a little child being told off for pulling someone’s hair again, even though Lucas wasn’t talking to me.

“Kill me?” Spencer whispers, then he shudders and slides down his chair, I have to smile, no one’s gonna kill him, Lucas just made that up to stop his whining, the most someone would do to Spencer is leave him alone. He’d just be another kid on the street, and knowing Spencer he would dig a hole and never come out.

Lucas stops the car and I open my car door. I go round to the boot to see what Lucas and Spence managed to grab and when I open the boot I find that it’s not much. A few tins of beans and tomatoes, one can of soup and a packet of dried noodles. I see how it is, Lucas can keep his noodles but I can’t have my peaches? That’s just school kid mean. There’s also some blankets and a pillow, along with some of Lucas and Spencer’s personal stuff, I see a notebook with Lucas’ name on the front, I’m tempted to read it so I go to take it but than I hear his car door open so I grab as much food as I can and head toward the dump that can’t be classified as house.

I kick the already slightly open door and squeeze myself through the gap, just managing to fit the food and I through. I find the kitchen easily enough and plonk the food on the counter, from what I can tell by the house, this used to be a council house, one of those one floor and small room ones. I look up and see Spencer cringing as he steps over a pool of dried vomit. Yum.

“This place stinks Lucas, why did you have to pick this place?” Spencer squeals as he sees some kind of spider crawling up the wall, when I say crawling I mean Olympic sprinting, this guy is the fastest spider I have ever seen! He goes from the floor to the ceiling in less then ten seconds. Jesus, even the insects are messed up on this planet now!

“I picked it because it stank, the Robo will never look for us here.” Lucas replies, tired of listening to Spence whine whilst he goes down the hallway to check out the rest of the house. Spencer comes into the kitchen with me and helps me put it all away. The house is silent until we hear Lucas scream, well he doesn’t scream, he yells. Loudly.

Spencer and I run to him and find Lucas leaning against the doorframe of a room, a hand on his heart. I’m about to ask him what’s wrong with him when he points in front of him, I look over his big shoulders and what I see is something I’ll never be able to forget.

It’s a little girl, she’s in a dress and is wearing bunches. But the one thing that startles me the most is what stains her face.

It’s blood; dried blood is caked to her mouth. What has this girl done?

Dum dum duuum!

Sorry if the next update takes a while, but it’s nearing Christmas so I’m off seeing friends and family and that kinda stuff.

Thanks for reading and I would love it if you commented! Have a merry Christmas everyone!
