Just A Brief History

Hey all! I hope you’re enjoying the story so far! I just thought I’d do a chapter on the history of the Robo, just a background! This is written in Mika’s POV by the way, not for any reason, just that it’s easier! J

Imka is a planet home to another species of humans. They aren’t that different from us, except for a few extra brain functions and maybe a bit of a bigger head. But one thing that definitely separates us from the Imkarian’s is our motives.

Imka did everything with one goal in mind, to make life as comfortable and peaceful as possible. Don’t ask me how making a whole load of Robo was helping that cause but it happened! A king and his queen ruled them, King Akmi and Queen Kima, although the king was the main figurehead the queen did most of the behind the scenes work along with looking after their daughter. The actual people of Imka were all on the same level, society wise, they all worked – but not for money but to help the whole population – and no one was better or more polite or smarter, they were all equal.

Something else about Imka that’s amazing is the landscape. Their sky was a mix of rich purples and the clouds had the same colours swirling on them. The mountains were blood red and the water was the most electric blue you could think of. But the sun and the moon was the main feature, the sun and the moon were always in the sky together, one didn’t go down to make way for the other, they stayed in the same points in the sky, the lemon yellow sun was towards the north west and the moon was south east. Elegant and vibrant bird like creatures flew across the sky and all the other animals were roaming around, they weren’t cut off by fences or hedges, they roamed all over and some even found a Imkarian companion.  

Imka was the perfect picture of peace and beauty, but then again nothing’s perfect. Please welcome to stage,

The Robo.

The Robo were created to help aid the Imkarian’s, most were made for battle but some were made for various jobs such as, household jobs, nurses for the children and some nurses for the elderly. But those ones eventually stopped being made as soon as the Robo took over; there is a legend about some surviving and escaping but the actual chance of that happening is very slim.  

The Robo weren’t always evil, they didn’t even go to battle; there were no battles on Imka. Most were deactivated and slept until they were needed while others became the equivalent of our police. Then came the beatings. Robo suddenly started beating up the very few criminals they detained, then it went onto innocent pedestrians and soon they had planned a whole homicide! The actual reason for the Robo to turn on the Imkarian’s is unknown but many have their suspicions, all rumours and stories told to make life no more interesting.

Robo have a sterile white plastic shell on the outside to protect the metal of their insides. The only organic bit about them is their eyes, which were grown in some creepy Imkarian lab. You’d think that they eyes would be the easiest bit of the Robo to make, but the Imkarian’s had some weird thing about eyes, they said that eyes were the best part of a person and that they are a window not only to see out of but to see into too.

 People with silver eyes are especially cherished; silver eyes are very very rare in Imka and only people who are meant to do something big get them, it’s like seeing a person’s future in their eye colour, but only for silver eyed people. I feel very bad for the people who do have silver eyes, imagine everyone knowing something about you that you don’t. And the expectation to do something big is massive as well. What if someone with silver eyes did absolutely nothing?

Anyway, moving on. The Robo were made 20 of our years ago. The first one ever made was in Imka’s best lab and was made to look exactly like the current kings daughter, the last kings’ daughter, who no one really knew about. The king’s daughter was a mystery to the people of Imka, there were celebrations for her big birthdays but no one ever saw her at them, or at anything. Some said that she was malformed and the king was hiding her to avoid embarrassment while other said she was just shy. But at her 21st birthday celebration the king and queen put those rumours to rest.
