“Ugh, I’ve only been here a few minutes and I already hate the colour white.” Typical EK. Oh EK. If I hadn’t been so stupid and stubborn then we would never be here, she wouldn’t be here. I look around at the clinical white walls of the never-ending corridors.

“I know what you mean, I’ve been trying to get them to paint the walls something nice like purple, not the yucky lilac but the deep, sexy purple if you know what I mean.” Meet our sarcastic, cocky tour-guide, I think his name is something hippy like Kale or something.

“Shut up Kyde.” Oh that’s his name, I look over to our other guide, and he’s more what you’d expect from a Robo loyalist, no sense of humour, no emotions whatsoever and an obedient bastard.

“You’re no fun Lawrence, I was just joking around.” He goes to fake punch Lawrence but stops halfway and adds as an afterthought. “That purple would make this whole place heaps more sexier though.” Then he turns and winks at EK, I don’t have to worry about her falling for his ‘charm’ because as soon as he even looks at her she glares at him. She’s amazing.

“Whatever Kyde, just take them to the right place.” Lawrence starts to turn down another corridor when he looks back at us.

“Kyde, where are you going? She’s this way.” He sighs. Kyde just flashes a dashing smile and carries on walking like the true prima donna he is.

“Shortcut Lawrence. There’s a back door she showed me once.” He says the last bit like he’s hiding something, whoever ‘she’ is; Kyde has something going on with her. Lawrence just rolls his eyes and reluctantly comes with us.

We finally reach a surprisingly black door.

“How come this door is black and everything else is white?” EK asks sounding bored yet curious.

“Because little girl, this is a special door for special people only. So you’re very lucky.”

“I am not a little girl, never call me a little girl again!” EK growls at him who seems unfazed and just smiles back smug and amused.

“Why is this door special? Who’s behind it?” I ask, feeling a bit suspicious and scared that my suspicion could be correct. EK senses all this and looks at me questioningly but I focus on Kyde who hasn’t answered my question yet.

“Oh for heavens sake Kyde, stop being a drama queen and get them inside that door.” Lawrence sighs from behind us, all this sighing of his reminds me of Greg back home, except when Greg gulped, it was a nervous gulp, when Lawrence’s sighs he’s basically saying he’s fed up with you, or in this case, Kyde.

“Okay mate. Take a chill pill.” He then dramatically puts a hand on the handle and turns to us.

“Welcome, to the moment you’ve been waiting for.” Kyde pushes down the momentous handle and opens the door.

We walk inside the room, which is a beautiful room, it’s got an earthy feel to it but it’s not quite Earth. The walls are made of a richly coloured wood with planks going as far as the edge of the ceiling which is made of clear glass, the glass is stained with paintings of vines going in every direction, making it seem like we’re standing under a cluster of vines and flowers. At the end of the room is a big glass door leading out to a normal corridor, except the walls aren’t white like all the others, this corridor is made of the same wood that’s in here and has a carpet that resembles dirt, a dark brown with plants and leaves scattered around. There are actual plants growing in elegant vases and bowls on short white columns around the room. Except they’re not your ordinary house fern or money tree, these plants are of another world. The one in the left hand corner furthest away from me is dragonfruit pink with orange and yellow leaves shaped like flames. There’s another one on the other side of the room that EK’s studying now, it’s a baby blue vine climbing up a curvy vase and has deep purple flowers shaped like large sesame seeds. It’s beautiful. I look at Kyde and see he’s got an amused look on his face as he watches EK and I instantly feel protective over her and hateful towards him. EK then turns to me with the most amazing smile on her face and grabs my arm.

“Look how beautiful it is.” She looks at the room with such awe and happiness that I can’t help but pull her face to me gently and giving her a very loving kiss. Well, I might’ve also done it because I know Kyde’s watching us. When we break apart she smiles and goes to drag me to another amazing plant, as she does I turn and look at Kyde who now has a sour look on his face as he sees us, I give him a sarcastic and cocky wink before giving EK my full attention.

“She’s not here.” Lawrence says after a while and EK and I turn to him and Kyde.

“Who’s not here?” EK asks but they both ignore her.

“I’ll go see where she is! You can babysit.” Kyde then rushes out the door before anyone can say a word to him. Lawrence sighs again and perches on the edge of a pearly white desk as EK and I continue looking at the breath-taking room.

Mika’s POV

Punch. Punch punch punch. Another punch on the punching bag. I don’t know how long I’ve been here; time doesn’t really matter when you’re feeling what I am. Punch. Punch, my knuckles are bleeding so I start kicking the bag. Whack, my foot makes violent contact with the black bag covered in blood from my knuckles. Whack. Whack whack whack!

“You’re going to break your ankle kicking like that so hard.” I shrug and carry on, so not in the mood for human interaction.

“You are so stubborn Mika, please stop for a second darling.” As soon as she says darling I know who it is. I sigh, wipe some sweat from my head and turn around. As soon as she sees me The Queen cringes.

“Oh my gosh! Look at you! Those clothes are covered in so much sweat you look like you just went for a dip in the pool! And your knuckles! Come here love and let me bandage them.”

I stand my ground and put a hand on my head, pushing my fringe back.

“I’m not stopping.” Queenie rolls her eyes and starts to rummage for something in her bag.

‘Of course not sweetheart, but at least let me bandage your knuckles and teach you how to kick properly so you can carry on without fatally injuring yourself.” I walk over to her and sit on the bench her bag is on.

“No offense Your Majesty but what do you know about kicking a punching bag that I don’t?” She looks up at me and doesn’t answer until she’s fully cleaned and bandaged my knuckles 5 minutes later.

“Come over here,” We walk toward a punching bag near mine. “Watch.”

I cross my arms in disbelief that I’m going to see anything special, I mean she sits at a desk all day and when she does go out she has bodyguards galore and people to fight for her. Then she steadies the bag and takes a step.

This woman moves and attacks the bag so fast I can’t keep up with what she’s doing. When I think she’s about to kick she has done five time already and is moving onto punching it. Queenie finally stops and takes a step back. She straightens her genie pants and tightens her ponytail, when she spots a speck of spot of blood on her knuckles she tuts and plants a small kiss on it. She turns to me and raises an eyebrow.

“What?” I manage to get out of my voice box. The Queen then smiles and checks her phone, which was in her pocket the whole time!

“Oops, I’ve missed a call. I must go darling, but let’s do this again sometime!” She gives me a hug and kiss on the cheek, collects her bag, puts on her leather jacket and walks out the door calling ciao.

Respect Your Majesty. I did not know she was such a bad ass! Respect. I also loved her jacket. It was a pretty dirty jacket. Maybe I have more in common with The Queenie then I thought...
