Spencer’s POV

“She’s on her way.” Lawrence says. I look up and EK sits up. We’re lying on the floor, her head in my lap and I’m looking up at the amazing ceiling.

“Okay.” EK says and lies back down. I look down at her.

“Aren’t you a bit scared by who ‘she’ could be?” I ask.

“Not really, no one can be as annoying as Clyde.”

“Kyde, for the last time. My name is Kyde.” We both look up. EK chuckles and sits up, dusting off her pants.

“Ah, so the royal pain in the backside’s back.” Kyde smiles sarcastically.

“I’m not the royal one here.” Before I get to ask what that means a new voice pipes up from behind him.

“Talking about me already Kyde? It’s terribly rude to talk about people behind their backs.” It’s a woman; her voice is soft and well enunciated, almost posh but with a hint of a foreign accent.

Kyde laughs. “When else are we supposed to talk about you then?” The woman laughs delicately and a door is gently closed. Lawrence shakes his head and gets into a military stance.

“I suppose you have a point there.”

“Umm are you guys done bantering or can we start introductions?” EK butts in. I suck in a breath.

“EK. Don’t.” I whisper, she looks at me with an eyebrow up.

“So this is why I was summoned, we have guests. If you had told me Kyde darling I would’ve been quicker.”

“Apologies Your Majesty. I didn’t find it to be that important as to rush you.” He smiles snidely at us.

“Manners Kyde. A bit of joking isn’t harmful but there’s a line between jokes and bad manners. Don’t cross that line,”

“Of course ma’am.” He looks at the floor.

“Anyway, no need to delay this meeting any longer.” We hear light footsteps and a figure steps out of the front hallway. She’s adjusting her jacket when she first steps out so I don’t see her face right away but her hair is a white-blonde colour and she has pale skin. She looks familiar.

Then she looks up at us.

“Hello. I’m The Queen.”

Mika’s POV

“They’re meeting The Queen.” I spin around in the hallway and find myself face to face with Rast. I put a hand on my hip.

“Pardon me?”

“I just thought you would want to know what they’re doing.” He walks past me.
