It was about 6 in the morning. The sun was just coming up and the birds were chirping outside. "Tweet, tweet," they all went. Quickly flapping their wings as they heard a loud blaring noise from inside one of the rooms in the house. It was my room. I instantaneously hit the alarm off and lazily sat up from my bed. 6:05, the alarm read. I got up and dragged my feet along the carpet until I reached the door. As I opened the door, confetti shot straight up into my face. Different colors: blue, yellow, pink, green, orange, purple, and red. Mom was yelling into my ear.
Y/M: Happy Birthday, [insert girl name]!
You brushed off all the confetti that landed on your face and replied to your mom with a thank you.
Y/N: Thanks, mom.
She brought you into a big, long hug. You wrapped your arms around her. Her eyes were slightly watering up. Next thing you know, she was bawling into your arms. You comfort her.
Y/N: Mom, why are you crying? Please, don't cry. At least not on this day.
Your step-dad and little brother, Keith, walked up the stairs with a cake, singing Happy Birthday. It had 18 lit candles on it that alternated with your two favorite colors: [insert two of your favorite colors]. Your mom pulled back so you can blow out your candles. You closed your eyes and made a wish and blew out all the candles.
Keith: What was your wish?
Y/N: That's a secret. (You smile sadly at him)
Keith's Dad: Cheer up, kiddo. You're finally a young adult who can make your own decisions!
Y/M: Why don't we all go into the kitchen and have us some cake, huh?
(You flash your mom a big smile that showed a row of your pearly-white teeth)
When we were all walking down the stairs, mom slid a box into my hand. I was confused at first, but I realized it was their 18th birthday gift to me.
What was inside the box?
