(Song of the Chapter: Love Remains The Same)
Lena texted me that she was finished shopping and so we met up at one of the stores. We interlaced our hands and walked out to the food court.
Lena: So, what'd you buy?
I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't realize she was talking to me. Her voice was just like a noise in the background.
Lena: Hello, earth to Y/N.
Y/N: I'm sorry, Lena.
Lena: What's on your mind?
Y/N: Nothing, it's nothing.
Lena: You know you can tell me anything. I'm your girlfriend now. No secrets, remember?
On and on, I went, ranting about Spencer and Lisa.
Y/N: Spencer's a douche! You should've seen him at the store! He was about to slap Lisa! Who the f*ck hurts a girl?!? I hate him! And, then Lisa, she's always so forgiving! She always forgives him even if he's hurts her! I can't even express how angry I am! She won't even let me help her! Why can't she see that all I want to do is protect her? Who knows what I'm going to do to that Spencer if I see him again. I might even kill him!
Lena: I think you're over exaggerating.
Y/N: I am not! Aren't you supposed to be taking my side on this?
Lena: Look, Lisa can take care of herself. You're worrying too much. Maybe he wasn't hurting her.
I let go of her hand, frustrated with her.
Y/N: I know she can take care of herself, but if she really could, she wouldn't let Spencer hurt her! I honestly can't believe you right now!
Lena: Why, do you care so much? Are you still in love with her?
Y/N: No, of course not!
Lena: Okay, well then stop acting like you still do, stop acting like you're her jealous girlfriend! It's not your duty to protect her!!!
I watched Lena walk away from me. I didn't even bother going after her. Why, should I even be with someone who doesn't get me? I put my hands in the pockets of my blazer and remembered about the ring. I pulled it out and stared at it. Am I really about to propose to someone who thinks I'm still in love with their sister...? Maybe, because I still am... I guess love really does remain the same. . . . .
Is Lena right? Are you still in love with Lisa?
