Maddie's POV
I am in my boring History class with Bea, I'm covering her as she sleeps. I don't know what she did last night for her to be this sleepy. I can only think of two possible reasons; if she didn't attend a party with her parents, she stayed up late looking for her, "the one". Tsk, I still can't help but laugh at how hopeless romantic she can be. Mas malala pa siya kay Gizelle. Anyway, she haven't found the girl kasi since she last saw her at a Restaurant. My poor best friend, I've never seen her this serious about something, she must really like her, perhaps she loves her already.
I am capable of liking someone pala, after Tey kasi akala ko wala na talaga. I've admitted that I like Pauline to myself but I'm not planning on making everyone know. I'm afraid of the consequences, and I want to be hundred percent sure. I don't want to rush anything, like what I did before.
I can hear Bea's soft snores, and I gathered all my strength not to laugh. Damn, she's this tired? Good thing we're on the back part of the room.
I rested my face on my hand, my elbow propped on my desk. This will be our last subject for the day.
Kumain na kaya siya?
I share the same schedule with Pauline, now I know the reason why I insisted on having the same as hers. I told dad to talk to Deanna's dad. Pero, I made sure to have free time during my friend's free time, so that we can still eat together.
We never let a week pass knowing we haven't bonded, may it be in our house or us going outside to eat.
My phone vibrated, and I discreetly checked who texted me.
Jirah:
Me and Jia are going out for lunch. Wanna join us?
Ibang lever na talaga si Jirah ah, finally.
Maddie:
Seriously? I don't want to be a third-wheel.Tss, never.
Jirah:
Stupid, this is a group message. And I checked it, oh well, napahiya ako don ah. Not long after the others started replying. Marge and Gizelle saying they can't and will just make it up to us by dinner.
Therese:
Haha! Poor, you. Anyway, yeah I'll join you. Pick me up later. And she don't need to mention a name to know who she's talking to. Ang lakas ng loob mang-asar tapos she'll tell me to pick her up?
Maddie:
How about a, no?Therese:
Whatever. Listen to your prof., I know you still have class. And just like that, our professor dismissed us. I took a photo of Beatriz before waking her up, for future, who knows? I might use it against her.
She looks like she's not fully awake, I told her about our lunch with Jirah and Jia, she nodded in response.
"You're awake na ha? I'll go to Tey pa. We will meet you nalang sa Dulcelin Gourmet."
I patted her back before walking away.
Pauline's done with her classes, but she told me they have a group project so she'll stay until afternoon in school. How did I know? Because since that night we had a talk, we've been hanging out recently, just the two of us.
It's been really different since that night, well, when it's just the two us. We're just the same Maddie and Pauline in front of our friends but totally different when it's just the two of us. We go that isolated place riding our bike and stay there to talk, I mean, yeah we still argue but it's like founded something during that night that only the both of us knew, but doesn't have any idea how to put it into words.
