Maddie's POV

I held out my hand for Therese to help her get out of Marge's car. Like what I promised Tey and the others, I'm going to treat them dinner. We're here in Lartizan, Therese's favorite restaurant.

I was also tired  earlier and because I finally found comfort I fell asleep while watching her, not surprised to see my other best friends sprawled on her bed who are also on their slumber. After taking our power nap we all prepared for our night out.

All eyes are on us as we entered the place, they started to buzz like bees and I can't help but roll my eyes at them. Bea chuckled at my reaction but I know she's as irritated as me. With a slight shake of head and a puff of an air we went to our reserved table.

Chicken Liver & Foie Gras Pate is served in our table after some time, this is the perfect food to gain our appetite. All that will be served for tonight's dinner is Therese's choice and some are from Marge and Gizelle.

Their eyes' sparkled upon seeing it and I smiled, my gaze landed on Therese whose eyes are still puffy, I can't help but feel guilty. Ever since we were young I hate knowing that one of them cried and of course I hate it even more when I'm the reason behind it.

Flashback

Therese is curled up on our sofa in the living room, it's hard for me to ignore her and focus on the game we are playing. I made her upset for declining her invitation to accompany her to eat outside. I just don't feel like going out especially I am sad for an unknown reason. It's been two weeks since her sister left and I still can't get the memory of her staring at me blankly out of my head. It's haunting me and making what I feel inside worse.

I sighed before leaving Bea and Jirah to go to Tey. I know I'm going to lose in the end, she is a stubborn girl, she won't stop until she makes me say yes.

"Tey." I said and touched her shoulder.

"Go away!" She said and removed my hand from her shoulder.

"Haay. Tara na, sasamahan na kita. Stop crying." I tried to make her sit properly so she will look at me but she grabbed a pillow and covered her face.

"Hindi na ako gutom. Maglaro ka nalang doon." she mumbled, instead of getting annoyed her childish act it made me smile.

"Ayoko na palang maglaro, mas gusto ko palang samahan ang nagtatampo kong best friend." I said while suppressing a laugh.

A pillow collided with my face and I saw her glaring at me.

"Nakakainis ka." she grumbled.

"Para kang bata. Tara na? Kapag tinamad ako bahala ka."

Slowly her eyes disappeared just like mine, now, we're both smiling and it warmed my heart. With her smile I saw someone else, someone I'm trying to forget but miserably fail.

During the night when we were both sitting on the swing in our garden, I'm holding my glass of cold milk and she's enjoying her melted ice cream, one of her weird favorite foods.

"I miss my sisters." she said sadly breaking the silence.

"I want to be with them but then, I don't want to leave you guys."

"We'll spend all the time in the world together so you won't miss them so much." I said with a smile.

"Don't you miss them?" she asked.

"Of course I do." I removed my eyes from her and stared at the sky.

"Madds?"

"Hmm?"
