Maddie's POV
"Ganda ng bihis natin, ah?" Jirah teasingly said when they saw me going down the stairs.
I'm not wearing anything fancy, Jirah knows I'm going out on a date that's why she's teasing me. Alongside her is Beatriz who didn't say anything but the expression she has says otherwise.
I'm wearing a white short, instead of capri pants that I usually wear at home, I topped it with a royal blue plaid shirt and I'm wearing my blue and white Keds shoes.
"Shut up, Ji. Baka gusto mong ipakita ko yung video mo habang umiiyak after ka sagutin ni Jia." I retorted. Jirah threw a pillow at me in return.
"Bakit ka nga pala nandito, Ji? Para kang tuko kung kumapit kay Jia eh." Gizelle said who just got back from the kitchen, devouring the slice of cake she's holding.
"Bea told me tita baked a cake eh." She answered, pointing her lips towards Gizelle.
"Grabe, you'll choose cake over your girlfriend?" Marge asked in disbelief then walked towards me.
"Oy Jirah! You look crazy!" Bea nudged her.
"I just can't believe that Jia's my girlfriend." She stated dreamily.
I thanked Marge for fixing my hair and went to where Jirah is to give her a smack in the head, the latter glared at me while massaging the part where I hit her.
"You're so corny." I rolled my eyes at her.
"Says the one who's going out on a date."
"You're going out on a date?" Therese suddenly asked, she's staring at me waiting for my answer. When I look into her eyes I know that one wrong answer can hurt her further.
I want to say 'yes' because I don't want to feed her with another lie but then I also know that would hurt her. Inspite her smile I know deep down she's affected.
If I'll answer 'no' then it's like I denied Pauline.
"Bring us pasalubong!" Gizelle butted in, cutting the awkward silence that enveloped us.
I glance at her as if saying thank you.
"Of course." I smiled and tried to make my voice cheerful.
"I'll see you guys later." I waved my hand, Jirah and Bea hollered before they all laugh. Therese's sad eyes didn't went unnoticed by me, I let out a sigh.
Pauline:
I'm at Deanna's.
And just like that a smile formed in my lips.
And off I go. I've never been this excited to watch a movie and eat outside. Damn, I've never been excited about going to the mall.
The Wong's house is only few blocks away from ours that's why it wasn't long until I saw their enormous house and in front of it is the girl behind my happiness and of course, Annoying Deanna.
I stopped my car and rolled down the window. Pauline has this bored look, like always. And Deanna's usual annoying smirk is also plastered.
"Can you believe it? You two are going out on a date." Her voice is full of playfulness.
"Will you shut up?" I hissed.
"Parang kailan lang, selos na selos ka kay Basti at hindi makaamin." She added, completely ignoring me. An amused smile formed on Pauline's lips.
"Shut it, Deanna." I gritted me teeth and then turned to Pauline with a smile, "Pau, get in."
Without saying anything she did right after she hugged her best friend good bye.
