Maddie's POV
The sound of the ball as it hits the floor is echoing inside the empty gym, the screeching of my shoes blending with it well. The ring swoosh as I managed to shot the ball perfectly from three. It's too early for the other villagers to be here, and here I am with my morning workout.
I want to play volleyball but I don't have anyone to play with. My best friends has morning class and they like to make the most of their time as much as possible. I woke up at 5:00, since I can't go back to sleep I decided to have my morning jog.
I dribbled the ball and positioned myself, I released the ball and it went in. My height will go to waste if I'm not good at any sport. Not everyone had the opportunity to be this tall, I'm not saying that sports are just for tall people ah. What I'm trying to say is, ay basta. HAHAHA.
I played with the ball and aimed for a backboard shot, but it was a bad shot, I threw the ball a little harder than it's supposed to. The ball rolled away from me and I ran for it.
"Where's the fun with playing alone?" a smirk is visible from the girl lips who's in front of me.
She's holding the ball that she picked up earlier.
"I've got no choice." I answered with a smile, and tried to take back the ball. She moved it out of my reach.
"Why are you so early ba?"
"I don't know. Body clock?" I shrugged.
"Wow, you're such a morning person." her voice full of sarcasm that it made me laugh.
"How about you? Why are you up early? Later pa classes mo ah."
"I don't know. Body clock?" she mimicked my expression earlier. After a moment we both burst out in laughter.
"Be serious kasi."
"Well, I... uh." she stuttered.
"What?"
"I saw you earlier when I was getting water, I couldn't sleep either. That's why I made us breakfast." she's trying to act like it's not a big thing but I can see past that, she's trying to hide her blush by hiding her face from me.
Oh Pauline, you're making me like you more, each and every time we're together. Don't you know I like you so much already?
"Really?" I asked not being able to hide my happiness.
"Nawawala na naman mata mo." Pauline said, while covering my face with her hand. She always do this when I smile at her.
"You can be sweet naman pala eh. Tsaka it just shows you like hanging out with me." I teased.
"Napakayabang. Let's eat na nga." she said rolling her eyes, before walking towards the bleachers. I followed suit, baka mamaya she'll change her mind and leave me here.
She took out the Tupperware from the paper bag, my stomach rumbled upon seeing the pancakes with bananas and strawberries but what made me even hungrier is the bottle of fresh milk. My eyes sparkled seeing them making me excitedly run my way to her.
"I'll assume you like what you're seeing." she said with a smile.
"Like? No. That's an understatement, I love it." I answered giddily.
I happily took the spoon and fork from her and opened the container, I took a bite making me close my eyes. I hummed in approval, loving what I tasted. I took a bite after another, and another, and another. My fresh milk partnering well with Pauline's master piece.
I'm almost done with my food when I noticed the girl in front of me barely touched her food and is now watching me intently, her amusement written all over her face. I stopped chewing, my mouth full of food causing my cheeks to blow up.
