Maddie's POV
I was startled when I saw Pauline leaning on the wall waiting for me outside my bathroom, her arms are crossed and she has this bored look on. I glared at her before I continue to dry my hair with a towel.
She followed me when I walked passed her and she sat on the couch resting her feet on my coffee table, tss! She's just like her ate Therese but then she has this traits that will make you question if they really are sisters.
"I thought nalunod ka na. Ang tagal mo talaga maligo." She said and rolled her eyes.
"Where are the others? Why aren't they here?" I asked completely ignoring her mockery.
"Ate went out with that Intal guy-"
"What?! I told her to avoid him at all cost!" I exclaimed and sharply turned my head towards her to see if she's joking, but by the looks of it, she is not.
"You're so OA. He was being persistent and ate thought he would stop if she'll agree with him just once."The black of her eye disappeared.
"Kahit na! She'll only give him false hope. Knowing that guy he won't stop until Tey will give in again." My jaw is set while my hands are clenched into fist.
"Stop over reacting, Maddie! They're not alone." She said with an exasperated look.
"What do you mean?"
"Ate Bea along with the others followed them."
"Where are they?"
"French Baker? I'm not sure."
I hastily combed my hair before grabbing my keys, wallet and phone. Marching my way downstairs with Pauline trailing behind me. She looks annoyed whilst I have an agitated look.
I hopped inside my car and she held the door open.
"Where do you think you're going?" Her arms are crossed making her look even scary.
"Umm. Following them?" I half asked, half stated.
She took a deep breath while her head is tilted upwards, facing the sky. With her eyes close, I think she's muttering some words but I can't understand it.
"You're so stupid. I'm so annoyed at you right now." Her heavy breathing shows how angry she is and I'm left dumbfounded staring at her.
"Huh?" Parang wala sa sariling tanong ko.
"Ikaw na yata ang pinaka dense and slow na taong nakilala ko." If looks could kill, I would've been dead, kanina pa.
"Wala naman akong ginagawa ah."
"Exactly, Maddie!" The veins in her neck are popping because she's trying to remain calm.
"Pau, relax. Let's talk once I get back." I placed my hand on top of hers but she swatted it harshly.
"I can't believe you." Her voice cracked and her eyes became glossy. I start to panic.
"Pauline. What's wrong?" I get off my car and cupped her face. She shut her eyes tightly, and a tear rolled down her cheek. Crack.
"Do you know how long I waited for you? I stayed up all night waiting for you to get home. Because I was worried you'd do something stupid that might hurt you. I was happy to see you when Cienne brought you home no matter how mad I was to see you in that state. I have to wait for you to wake up and took care of you until you're sober enough so that we can talk. And now you'll leave just like that? I know how much you love my sister. I can see how much you care for her, Maddie, and that makes me so happy but it hurts because I'm here and you act as if I'm not important enough to you."
